Second the vote for Velo. City would also work - size in between Velo and Town.
Velo is a great travel and day bag: holds a scarf, water, books/mags/iPad, umbrella, gloves, whatever -- in addition to normal "handbag" stuff.
City would go from day to night better than Velo and would hold more than Town but less than Velo
I love the look of the town but at only 3"deep (front to back), that would only be an evening bag for me!

Length of shoulder strap may matter as well" Velo=adjustable/long. City=shorter. Town -- longer (I think?) like Velo (Town owners, help here?). I have Velo, City and Day - but am coveting a Town. Still would use any of the three I have for travel before using a Town.

You can't wear the City cross-body unless you are 3 feet tall. Vélo and town are designed with crossbody strap. Velo is a pretty big bag and town is small but big enough to fit what you named. Town would also be closer to your price range because it's smaller. Mini city can be worn crossbody and only 1k but too small for carrying what you named.

I think it's a great bag (as long as you don't have bulky stuff), it's so very light and comfortable and extremely easy to wear crossbody. Here's a mod pic of me (I'm 5'3") with a flat in rose poudre, which perfectly matched my rose poudre rockstuds. Price is very reasonable, just over $700 US.

Ahh, thanks! My 2006 City was pre-loved (and authenticated here). For some reason it came with a longer strap (???), so I forget that the City strap is shorter.

I need to head to the mall and check a few things out. The weather is being too unpredictable right now for me to want to order online (who knows where it'll end up???). My next trip is in 2 weeks so I need to get something quickly.

Wow you're so lucky!! I hate the shoulder strap on the City and wish I can wear it crossbody. What colour is your City? I'm almost tempted to get a black town so I can switch the straps!

The Balenciaga classic flat looks cute but I don't know if it can fit all of the stuff you need. I'd try something bigger. The LV Speedy Banduliere is a nice option as well as various Longchamp crossbody styles.

Let us know what you went for!

OP, I forgot to mention the Balenciaga mini twiggy! That's also a crossbody bag and it fits a lot of stuff (even more than the town, I've heard). It costs more than the flat, but it fits way more stuff because of the depth of the bag.
