Hi everyone.

The title pretty much says it all. I've been traveling alone or with female companions a lot lately, so I really need a good crossbody bag for going through the airport, train stations, etc (I don't have hubby around to carry my stuff! :p). Anyhow, I need a sturdy, but nice crossbody bag. I need to be able to put travel documents, a wallet, keys, phone, a few cosmetics, etc in it. I'll pack my larger bags in my carry-on/suitcase so I'm not worried about being able to carry a ton.
I'm allowing a budget of up to $1500 USD.

Suggestions?

Thanks.

ETA: None of the places that I'm going to alone are dangerous or anything, but I'd prefer to not have huge logos all over the place, just in case (not to mention that I'm not a fan of large logos to begin with).

So...are you wanting the bag to look nice & impress people, or just to function well?

I'm in latter category & have used pacsafe bag for years. It's extremely plain & boring, but slash-proof.
I think new line has pretty colors, however. Here: http://www.pacsafe.com/
Hope this helps.

Rough and tumble on etsy has really nice 3in 1 hobos that can be a shoulder bag/xbody/backpack. They have amazing leather and lots of pockets for organization and come in many sizes. Love mine.

I want it to look nice to impress ME AND to function well. I'd also like to be able to use it when I'm NOT traveling, which is part of the reason that it needs to look nice.

I'll check out your link. Thanks.

+1 for the Balenciaga Town! It's a great crossbody, and if you get the giant hardware version, carrying it by the handles for dinners also works well, IMHO...

I've found that the Mulberry Alexa (regular size) also works well for me for travel, although there will probably be excess space if you'll be carrying only the items that you've listed.

I'm not sure about the USD retail prices for the above, but you might perhaps be able to find something within your budget for the Alexa, at least? According to Mulberry's official website, it retails for £1,100 right now...

Balenciaga Town.

You should consider something that has a top zip and not flap - easy to take things in and out as you go through endless lines of checking in, security, boarding, etc.
Aside from the Town, I think the Balenciaga Velo will also work well. The Velo is bigger than the Town and I used mine recently for a vacation trip (plane ride, train rides, and lots of walking) and it worked well.

I've been looking at this LV Turrene for the same purpose that you've in mind. Definitely durable, functional and secured I would say. For the price exactly with your budget, 1500$. Not to mention it's very stylish too. Can be carried either crossbody or handheld/ over the arm. I know you mentioned that you dislike obvious logos but have a look and see if it's something for you.

Mulberry Antony. Divine leather, timeless, the larger version will fit A4 and it has a small pocket for your passport/phone. I've used mine for travel, everyday and everything in between, and my Ant still looks like new. I'd still pay full price for it today - after 4 yrs the love hasn't faded!
