Hello beautiful purseforum community,

I wanted some advise regarding my next purchase and an upcoming milestone. I'm expecting my first child and only recently I found out it's a baby girl. 🌸
To celebrate this occasion, I want to treat myself to one of these items:
- Baignoire mini bangle watch, in yellow gold.
- Diamond tennis bracelet with matching mini stud earrings
- JUC bracelet regular size with diamonds in yellow gold

Few things to note, on the daily I wear my set of 3 rings that are in mixed metals. See the image attached. I wear YG necklaces and a rolex watch, with my rings whenever I go out. Other than my wedding and engagement ring that are in WG, my jewellery collection is yellow gold only.

I'm more of a watch person than bracelet. And a solid gold watch seems like such a lovely present to pass down to my daughter. It'll be timeless and since it's slim, it'll look so youthful on her.

A tennis bracelet too feels like a great idea, it is easy and carefree to wear, pairs well with rolex too. Matching mini solitaire studs will be a beautiful wearable piece for my daughter.

Now, I've always wanted a JUC with diamonds, but found that I struggled to keep up with the price increases on that particular piece. The problem with JUC is that it's hard to stack it with my rolex and I am unsure if id like to wear it on the other hand as I keep my left hand jewellery free. That's just my style and preference.

I feel pressured to buy a cartier item first as soon I'll be priced out and paying anything more than what it currently is will be difficult to justify.

Please let me know your thoughts and any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Given all you’ve said, I’d go with that tennis bracelet. A bangle watch may be timeless but isn’t universal, as in is’t a piece that most people are into IMO. The tennis bracelet could truly be an everyday piece for you and would still look great when you are ready to pass it down.

Buy what you love. By the time your daughter is old enough to appreciate it, people might no longer wear watches. Or she might not want to get her ears pierced, or she might not like diamonds.

At the end of the day, if it is something you love and she remembers you wearing it regularly and enjoying it, that will be the best memento.

I was going to say this as well. Buy what you love and will enjoy wearing. The sex of the baby shouldn’t make a difference here in what you get for yourself. It’s an incredible milestone to celebrate either way and you should do that with yourself in mind.

Take it as a soon to be mom x 4. Nearly every decision you make soon will be about her. The jewelry you buy for yourself is allllllll you. Embrace it and get what YOU love!

If you have "always wanted a JUC with diamonds" that imo is your answer :)
Looks like you wear watches on right wrist? Maybe you could get comfortable with wearing JUC on left, even though you said you keep it jewellery free. That way they also won't scratch each other.
Tennis bracelet is classic but unless you get it very fitted it will go under/over your Rolex often, just something to keep in mind.

+1 to not factoring passing it on to your daughter into the decision. She might have different taste or her wrist might be a different size, it's impossible to predict.

The mini baignoire looks absolutely stunning on your wrist! Very classy, elegant and fashionable. That said, I agree with Sleepydoc: if you've always wanted a JUC with diamonds, that's what you should get. This is the perfect occasion to treat yourself with something you've always wanted, just follow you heart and set logic aside IMHO.

JUC, because is more wearable and only going to get pricier. Tennis bracelet would be my second choice. UNLESS baby is due in April and her birthstone will be diamond :) In that case - tennis bracelet LOL.

Congratulations!

I just noticed you said baby, I only saw milestone lol. Congratulations! I would just add that perhaps you would not wear the JUC daily with the pointy nail bit around your newborn, but as you already have a watch that you daily, you probably wouldn't have the baignoire on every day either. I would still vote for JUC as I think it is a stunning piece and holds its own solitary on the wrist. If it's to be a forever piece I myself wouldn't factor the newborn stage into the decision.

Thanks so much for your response. It didn't even occur to me that children can have different tastes and having a daughter doesn't guarantee they would have the same liking for fine jewellery as myself. Perhaps because I always enjoyed the jewels that my mom passed on to me, so I didn't think otherwise was a possibility.

That's very well said! Thank you for your reply. I'm now trying to figure out which of the item does my heart desire the most.

Thank you so much! I think I'm having an extreme FOMO for opting anything that is not Cartier, only due to the price increases that I feel are imminent in the next few months if not end of this year. So I am leaning towards putting the tennis bracelet on the back burner and going for either JUC or the gold watch. I have always definitely wanted the JUC with diamonds but have also always wanted a full gold watch. Sadly Panthere small in YG was a watch I was priced out of a couple of years ago and only recently I've seen a solid gold watch ie. Baignoire that I literally drooled over lol
Your thoughts? Btw, Rolex is my usual going out piece as I'm a watch person, but at home I only wear my rings! Good shout on pointing out that JUC isn't the most newborn friendly piece, but then again, either is a bangle watch.

I would agree with this.

I love the idea of the Baignoire mini bangle watch. Every time you look at the watch you can measure how much your beautiful daughter has grown, with every sec the watch becomes more meaningful
