I have purchased a 1.35 ct Y-Z yellow cushion VVS1 and am planning on having a custom setting for a RHR. I am going to surround it which natural fancy pink diamonds. The shank will be platinum, center stone in 18 kt yellow gold and pink diamonds in rose gold. I am looking at the following 3 settings- which one do you like the best?
I am attaching a picture of my diamond and examples of the 3 settings. The "flower" setting has been photoshopped to give aprox colors. Pictures are from DBL who will be making my ring.

If I go with the more vintage setting I would probably do prongs rather than bezel- and my diamond is lighter than the one pictured

the flower ring reminds me of the rose picture!!

I like the second one too, I would do the second one with a yellow basket underneath to make the yellow colour deeper and yellow gold claws. it's going to look so pretty with the fancy pink diamonds:love:

Whatever you decide, make sure it's bezel set. I was with my girlfriend when she lost her D, IF, Ideal cut Cartier diamond. She was hysterical and uninsured. It was $70K to just replace the stone. Prongs loosen and stones can fall out. So look for bezel set settings. Good luck.

I'll definitely have insurance on this ring-thanks. So sorry about your friend's diamond. It's good to get prongs checked fairly frequently to make sure stones don't fall out.
