Blue sapphires have so much variation in color, in my experience, you really need to see them in person. What one person may see as a deep, rich blue, may look dark and inky to someone else. I don't think size is as important as what makes your heart sing.

Keep looking. If you are in LA you do not have to buy online. LA has a zillion jewelers.

I found a dream sapphire with a diamond halo at an independent jewelry store in my area.

I negotiated 20% off and the appraisal from an ethical appraiser not aware of the source was for the original retail price.

Shop around. LA has so many choices!

I have a half moon cut Tiffany engagement ring (which isn't my actual engagement ring, I just like it for assecorizing), 3 ct total. It goes nice with my wedding band for when I get married. It's definitely one of those which you have to see in person to form an opinion on
