Help me choose the best color between these

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to buy my LV cabin bag and a keepall 45. Now I wanted to get your opinions and experiences on these bags.

My husband has Pegase and it’s amazing even after 10 years of continuous traveling but it is very heavy and doesn’t have the 4 rolling wheels. So I like the horizon weight and smooth glide.

I am not concerned about scratches on the aluminum because I’ll install clear bra 3m (protection film from an auto shop( saw pics/info on this forum).

Please help me choose the right color
Here are some options which one you prefer

1- Classic monogram horizon with classic keepall (love the vintage look)

2- classic monogram horizon with keepall Macassar (care free but silver hardware :amuse: not sure)

3- monogram eclipse horizon with same colour keepall ( fresh and gunmetal hardware :tup:)

4 - monogram eclipse horizon with macasar keepall.

Can’t go with macasar horizon because of shiny silver hardware.


I am hoping for some input so I can make a good choice!

Option 1. Classic, looks the nicest, shows age the most gracefully. The most Vuitton. I vote for that.
Option 2. Macassar is my personal favourite, but mixing these (VVN-black, gold-silver) is just very far from good looking.
Option 3. I'm not at all into Eclipse, it is "shy" Vuitton for me. "I wanna have the logos all over me, but make them as hard to see as possible" :D I know this is not the philosophy behind the print, but it just always felt second best.
Option 4. They are easier to mix, because none of them are gold, but still, it would be a mix. Coordinated luggage is always superior.

I love your analogy of monogram eclipse :biggrin: I have a good laugh :) I’m with you no other color way can beat the classic monogram. What’s your thoughts on vachetta care especially for luggage?

I am a VVN "leave it alone"-ist :D
The sprays work though, but I'd only do them if I can really cover everything else super perfectly, so the spray doesn't go onto the hardware or the PVC. I haven't heard any stories about them doing damage, but I still would be very cautious. It is a chemical treatment afterall.
I only clean my VVN pieces every few months with a baby wipe. Works like charm. Even water stains were lifted permanently. And the patina is very nice and uniform. I have seen a few used Horizon that had stains on the 2 little leather corners, but all of them looked like the kind that would still be perfect if the owner would have carried a baby wipe with them and wiped the corners right after being caught in the rain. I know that they need a little more care, but not a lot more. After rain even the so called safe pieces should be wiped dry as well.

I would go with the shy LV.hahah… just because I don’t want too much attention when I’m traveling…especially if I’m alone. The eclipse horizon will be lower maintenance too, and either keepall will go..depends if you’re into matchy matchy or not.

I heard about Huggies baby wipes that it works wonders. Keepall, being a luggage bag, will be thrown around sometimes (I don’t worry about horizon because vachetta is not everywhere) but keepall has vachetta all over so do you think it’s a good option for travel I love the vintage look of classic monogram look or I’ll go with mono eclipse . Big dilemma :panic:

What do you think about mono eclipse horizon with macasar?

I’m not worry about horizon but keepall. Thanks for your help:) mono eclipse horizon will look good with macasar keepall . I don’t like macasar horizon can’t see too much silver:no:but vvn with mono :loveeyes:

Agree. Love logos but don’t want to be a potential target. I had two friends who had incidents of theft so maybe I am just being over cautious now but…

Maybe pass on the vachetta. I like it with my bags but not for travel :)
