Love the Celine. The color is beautiful, it looks unique, well made and a great balance between modern and classic. I would probably put in a bottom insert but that's me personally.

An everyday bag that is light weight , fits lots and good for travelling ( security I presume ?) , may I suggest something else if neither the Balenciaga or Celine fits your needs?
I love the Loewe puzzle , and i didnt love it until i try it on. It's amazingly versatile, lightweight and really unique . it fits lots plus I always prefer zipper bags for travel .
Or maybe you would like to consider Fendi- By The Way bag or Tod's Wave bag . All 3 can be carried cross body too !

Thanks for the feedback! The Bal ended up going back. It’s a beautiful bag, very functional and looks like it would be super durable but I didn’t keep it because it was fairly heavy and big and I couldn’t see myself reaching for it over my other every day bags.

Still thinking about the Celine. I have visited it many times and adore the leather and aesthetic. It’s just difficult to pay so much for a new bag because there are no reviews or feedback and now I’m paranoid about things like how it will wear over time. I like to research handbags to death before I pull the trigger.

That being said I feel like the Celine is a bag I would go to all the time as an every day bag. It just means I would need to get another bag for traveling

The Celine makes your heart sing, and you keep going back to it. It’s calling out to you. It’s a beautiful bag.

What I would do for travel, get a Longchamp LePliage, big enough so the Celine will fit inside. I hate the idea of shoving my handbag under an airline seat on a dirty floor, or having to put it in the overhead even just for take off and landing. I’ve had to do both. The LC has a zipper, and it folds up small and flat, so you can use it as a bag “overcoat” when needed, pull out your beautiful bag when you arrive, and fold the LC up again. Gilt and Century21 often have them at 20-30% off, so about $100, well worth it to protect your new beauty.

Thanks for the suggestions, funny I did look at both the puzzle and the by the way bags! The puzzle isn’t quite my style and I’ve been looking at the by the way for years and have yet to pull the trigger.

I have a longchamps tote and I always use it as a “bag cover” when I’m travelling or if the weather is it’s an awesome idea!

I think it looks casually elegant on you. I would want it, I think I’ll have to start stalking Fashionphile for one In my price point.
Another thing you can do for travelling, like shopping, walking around, etc., put you wallet, valuables inside a pouch with a chain hook, and attach inside the bag. Not foolproof, but extra protection. No one needs their wallet/ID lifted on a trip.

The way you're describing the Balenciaga, it should be a definite no. If it's not quite the right colour and it's heavy then you'd only be settling. I would always say go with your heart, but only you know if the price tag of the Celine is unreasonable for yourself :p
Don't worry, the perfect bag will come along :amuse:
