I'm sure you saw my reply on another thread but I'll just re-post for reference material or informational purposes. (Since this post is more on topic with this thread.)

Another thing, is that I'm biased :P , I'm not an LV girl and I don't like vaccheta. Though I'd be okay with one that already has a nice patina on it.
Thank you for your awesome feedback.
Yes, I did see your reply on the other thread.

I love the vachetta but only in theory. I like the color when it’s light and the smell of it when it’s brand new, and the rawness on that first immaculate day.

But thereon, it’s an unpaid babysitting job and I’m just not interested in that anymore.

I live in Florida and we have insane changing weather patterns. We go from high heat to rain and fog and humidity in seconds.
Vachetta is nerve-wrecking to me. Especially at these price points.

I like the Celine because it is so unassuming and elegant. And so rare.
Very few people have this bag and I haven’t even seen it in person yet.
Whereas the LV is everywhere. You know how it is.

Now, I havent seen many of these Speedy 20s. Probably because it is a mini bag made for “younger” women but the price is more for the “accomplished” woman.

I think I’m leaning towards the Celine and the LV DE.
That narrows down the problem a bit.

Totally get where you’re coming from on all points! My wardrobe also consists of mainly black items, so almost all of my bags are black as well. I do have a Siena PM in DE, and it works perfectly with everything. While it‘s clearly LV, I like that it’s a little less in-your-face and ubiquitous than the mono.

Good luck with your decision, it’s definitely a tough one! Please let us know what you end up choosing!
Thank you, darling.
I do agree about the DE. It is less ubiquitous for sure.
And so adorable in the Speedy 20.

How do you like it with black? Does it still pop?

What’s your take between the Celine and the LV DE?

At first I was worried about the DE with my majority-black wardrobe, but honestly, it works! I wouldn’t say that it pops, but it does give a nice contrast that’s definitely preferable to me over the mono.

Celine vs. DE is a tough decision. The Celine feels a bit more mature (not in a bad way), and I like that not everyone has it. @GateA also has an excellent point regarding the slimmer profile, which I find important given that it‘s (primarily) a crossbody bag. The DE with the guitar strap definitely has a younger, more casual feel to it, while still remaining a classic.

It really is a tough choice! :confused1:

It is!
But you make great observations.

I like that the Celine is less popular and more sophisticated but I feel like the DE might be more modern and fun, even?

I do dress very casual and love wearing jeans with cool sneakers, blazers and jackets so maybe I can get away with wearing the “older” style bag.

This choice is so very hard. It’s almost like I may need to get two of these. Omg.:confused1:

The Celine Boston bag’s cross body strap can only be secured onto its handles and not by the sides? If so May have problems reaching your hand into the bag’s opening.
That was true for the older model. Fortunately, they came out with an updated version that features d-rings from the sides.

I’m not a fan of the strap being clipped on the handles.
I sold several bags that had that system so I’m glad Celine corrected that.

I saw some comparison posts. The body thickness of Celine boston is slimmer than Speedy 20 so by carrying it crossbody, it looks a bit better, less bulky. Funny I was also leaning towards the small Boston recently.
Was liking the Ava, then the Folco, then the bucket and now I think the Boston is the most classic.
I voted for Boston in your poll.
Let us know what you decided on!
