Help me choose a new summer bag!

Hello all!

I’m looking for a new summer bag and have narrowed it down to these two: Pochette Coussin and New Wave Multipochette. I’m having trouble deciding which one of the two to get!

My criteria is for it to be compact and light, carefree, and in the color black.

Pochette Coussin - this is so beautiful but I’m afraid the lambskin will be high-maintenance (easily scuffed, especially corners, accidental scratches by nails, etc.). Also, as I usually wear sleeveless dresses in the summer, I’m not sure if the chain strap will dig into my shoulder. (This might be a non-issue as the bag is not large enough to hold a lot to become too heavy.)

New Wave MP - also beautiful! I like that there are two ways of wearing it (fabric strap for sportier look, or chain strap for dressier occasions). With that being said, my style is on the dressier side so I don’t know if I can pull off the fabric strap for everyday outfits...? I also am not a fan of the coin purse on the strap, so I most likely wouldn’t even wear it there. I do have the New Wave chain bag and also the New Wave camera bag, both of which I absolutely adore. So should I get another bag in the same line or is it time to venture out?!

I’d love and appreciate any input! Excited to be adding a bag to my collection soon :lol:

I voted Coussin for two reasons. You said that you have a couple of other new wave bags and that your style is dressier. I, too, would worry about the lambskin and the chain strap might prove to be uncomfortable with sleeveless dresses. Both bags are beautiful and you really can’t go wrong.

If I was looking to buy, I'd choose the Coussin. I think this one will be a classic and won't age. The multi pochettes are great (and surprisingly the coin purse makes sense hanging off the strap), but will it be something you'd use in 5, 10 years? There are so many lambskin Chanels floating around so it can't be that fragile? I guess it might not be an every day bag but I'd still consider it.

Thank you ALL for your helpful input!!! I'm definitely leaning towards the Coussin now! Since I usually wear dresses (no jeans, etc.) in the summer, surely the lambskin should fare well against the fabric of the dresses. And I will have to find another strap that I can use with the Coussin for a more casual vibe, and maybe even a shorter chain strap for dressy evenings. Thank you again!! The Purseforum community is truly amazing :love:
