Help: LV Palm Springs Mini Wear and Tear

Hello everyone!!I would like to know if anyone who own the palm spring mini backpack have the same issue like mine??I’ve got my bag on last November and this is what happened after few months I’ve posted this on another topic for LV palm spring mini backpack but then I found this one for the wear and tear so I would like to know if anyone else have any other issue with this bag

From what I’ve seen on my own bag and others, the fraying black pieces is normal. Some have gotten them reglazed and replaced by LV. I just trim my threads off and am waiting to get to a LV store (a 4 hour drive for me) and for it to get worse before repairing.

The peeling canvas by the zipper is a known flaw that others have gotten replacement bags for if it happens soon enough. I myself haven’t had this problem, but I’m suuuuuuper careful with that hard to open zipper. I’ve seen other bags on here with the same issue.

Hello! Although mine didn’t get to that point, I started having issues with the canvas around the zipper. It started peeling. At first I sent pictures to an SA, but was told it was normal wear and tear. Then I took it directly to the store to get it checked and LV authorized an exchange. I’m definitely late to this post and many people who originally posted probably got their issues fixed. I thought I’d share my experience with my PSM in hopes that if helps someone else. I purchased my PSM in June of 2019 and I don’t use the bag everyday. I went to use it a few days ago and after reading this thread I decided to inspect it closely. I noticed that mine was starting to peel right at the zipper where the canvas covers the zipper. I also noticed the side leather tabs were fraying a little, along with the canvas fading in the back. I thought this was too soon for this to happen especially since I don’t use the bag often and I’m careful when I use it. I decided to take it in to the boutique and I showed them the issues with the bag. She took it to the back and spoke to her manager. They came back with a brand new mini and did an even swap. She explained that they redesigned the Palm Springs line so that the zipper is now exposed which will fix the canvas peeling and cracking by the zipper. I told her that I heard the bag has a lot of defect but she mentioned that if I notice the same or similar issues again to take it in. I did have my receipt when I went in but she was able to pull up my info on her computer.

I would recommend taking it in if you’re having some of the issues I described, you never know! I wish I would have taken pictures of my previous PSM but here is a picture of my newly designed PSM with the zipper exposed.

How has it been after a few years? Do you still love the backpack or use it as much? Any regrets?

Hi there! So unfortunately I no longer have the bag. I had to sell it for financial reasons. I sometimes regret selling it but I don’t miss having to worry about it whenever I would use it. It’s a great piece, but I still feel vintage LV canvas is better than the newer models.
