Hello LV lovers!

So I bought this backpack in March and completely loved it until two months later I started seeing some loose threads on the black leather parts, and a month later the corners started wearing off. (Has this also happened to someone else?)

Then, by wearing the bag once a week (which is not a lot) it started to lose its shape and I never stuffed this bag [emoji43]

So I sent it to France to see if they would repair it and my SA just called me giving me two options:

1. Keep it and they won't repair it
2. Give me a credit note (and I can get the same bag again or a different one, I was thinking of a speedy b or neverfull in damier ebene since I want to have a "weather proof" bag that is more casual since I already have a red alma bb and a classic flap chanel)

What would you do?

Thanks [emoji8][emoji173]️

Oh no, I'm sorry to hear about your bag. I purchased this same bag in July and have had no issues with it. The black tabs have very slight wear on the ends because of how fragile they are (it looks like white specks that are very minimal). I don't have any loose threads. I really love my mini backpack because I find it soooo much more comfortable crossbody that my Damier ebene speedy 25. My speedy is of course more spacious and the DE is pretty much indestructible. It will definitely last longer than my backpack, but they're two very different bags. If I were you, I'd consider getting a replacement backpack IF you adore the look, size and functionality of it. I have two Chanels and they, of course, are far superior quality that LV. I very recently decided to take a step back from LV actually because I've had soooo many problems with them. They sent me a speedy with major rust spots, empreinte key pouches that had zipper pulls that were so flawed they were jagged, and they even sent me a speedy with makeup on the interior. Another time, they sent me an empreinte wallet with black lines encrusted in the hardware. And the list goes on. Most of these incidents were this year. I got a bit tired of their quality control so I moved over to Chanel and they get it right the first time every time. My LV collection consists of items with minimal weak spots (minimal glazing and such). I knew when I got the Palm Springs mini the squishy canvas would wear with possible creases and I knew the black tabs would eventually become destroyed, but I also knew I looooved the look of the bag so much I could look past the smaller weak spots of this particular item. I'm more careful with it than my DE speedy, but I don't baby it. So again, my vote is to get the credit note for a new one. The thread issue you're having isn't something I've had whatsoever, so I know a new mini for you will provide you with the same quality (better stitching) :). I'm going to be a mom soon and I'm going to use this bag to keep my hands free since it's soooo comfortable crossbody. The DE speedy is nice crossbody but it's bigger and the handle hits your leg/hip so it's not AS comfortable. And the neverfull is also nice, but I sold mine because I don't like it being so open. I like the security of a closed bag. Again, very different than the mini since it's a tote. Good luck with your decision and I do love how Louis Vuitton stands behind their items :).

I would get something else. Most of the time when someone has an issue and they get the same bag, they have the issue again.

I actually have the same issues with my Palm springs mini and it is still in Repair center in California. Hopefully I get an answer by tomorrow.
I would definitely get a different bag if they decide to give me a credit note. According to my SA this will always be an issue with the PS mini because of the type of leather they use on the tabs/chapes.

Can you post a closer photo of the issues you're talking about? I'm especially curious about the corners wearing off...do you mean the canvas is already tearing? I bought and returned 2 minis that had splitting black tabs and loose stitching on the side, so it definitely seems like quality control for this particular bag is not as good because they are cranking them out too rapidly to keep up with demand. Pity because it is such a cute and unique bag!

Sorry I do not longer have hhe bag, but what I meanbis that the corners were rubbing off, so for example the flowers or circles were not completely visible, because they were slowly disappearing.

And yes, I was told that the bag will wear like this so that is why I was offered a credit notw because LV is aware that the construction if the bag is not hhe best and iver time it will damage itself by wearing the bag wighout treating jt badly[emoji22]

Oh wow, good to know that the monogram pattern fades so quickly. I know this is supposed to be a newer, softer canvas, but I would rather have the older canvas back if there's a durability issue. Glad things worked out for you!

Wow! I'm disappointed to hear that. I've had one since May, and use in 1-2 times a month, as I rotate it with other bags. So far, it's ok, but I guess I'll have to keep an eye on it. It's terrible to know that the quality of the canvas is not great, and it fades away. Especially when we're spending so much on it. It shouldn't do that. But I'm happy they offered you a credit note. I hope the next bag you buy, the quality is better. Let us know when you end up getting. With all the issues I'm reading these days, I'm wondering if the quality of LV has gone down a lot. I recently bought a victorine wallet, and used in it a few times, and less a month the inside lining had issues. The glue was coming undone, and the lining was rolling down and getting stuck on the credit cards. I took it back in, as it was less than 2 months, and they gave me a credit note too. I'm definitely not getting the same wallet, and I don't know what to get as I'm thinking will the next thing I buy have issues too. Then I read your mini backpack, and I thought,... Oh no! That too. Anyway, good luck choosing another bag, and I hope it is better for you.

I have similar concerns as you with LVs quality control. Sometimes they get it right, other times it's a huge diss appointment. Seeing this thread and the issues with the Palm Springs mini made me wonder how long mine will be in my collection. Before I got mine this summer, I had seen a post in the Palm Springs mini thread with pictures of the flowers rubbing off in the corners from wear. It was disappointing but I told myself it's on the back of the bag where it'll never be seen. Upon getting the bag I quickly realized the black tabs are very fragile. I didn't find that a deal breaker either although it's upsetting for the price of this bag. And to see the huge crease on the bag in the photo of this thread is unacceptable. I haven't had any major issue with mine like that yet but the canvas is so flexible as you know, that I wouldn't be surprised to see my bag eventually lose its shape. Until then, I'm going to enjoy it since it's an adorable bag and so comfortable to wear. I did very recently make the switch to Chanel though because of issue after issue with LV. I had my eye on the new speedy empreinte and they had messed up stitching, bubbling and chipped off gold lettering. So I got a Chanel boy bag instead. LV has given me so many bad experiences this year that I had to take a step back. I can recommend a great LV wallet for you: the monogram zippy or the empreinte zippy. I have both and they are so strong and durable. No issues whatsoever :).

I had issues with this bag too. I only had it for exactly one month and the zipper pulled away from the canvas creating a 2 inch hole/gap while zipped at the top. I took it into the store where they sent it for a quality assessment where it came back as a defective. I had the option for a replacement or credit and I chose the credit as I love the bag and want to give it another chance plus it's already went up $80 in price since I purchased it. I just hope the second one doesn't have issues as this was the first time I've ever had a problem with a bag.

Hey! I just bought mine from a reseller and I got it authenticated by "******************" but I still have doubts... can you tell me how the zipper pull feels? Is it pretty light weight?

By corner wear, do you mean corners of the base of the bag or the corners of the little pocket or both? My little pocket has some wear on its corners, the little parts that are folded and jab outward. They are not shiny and look kind of matte and there might even be micro holes. I’m going to try and get a good photo in good light with a magnifier of this. Will post here and email my SA when I do. Suuuuper early wear as I obsessively checked it over, but still having had it only half a year and only carried it a few times this shouldn’t be starting to happen IMHO. I obviously don’t want this to spread or wear off the canvas monogram design nearby. I went through a few PSMs initially until I had one that I was satisfied with the alignment and canvas of, so knowing they are so hard to come by now, I’m weary of starting that process but I also don’t want a defective bag!
