HELP! I can't decide. Should I sell off my H scarves to buy more H leather goods?

When in doubt, don't do it! I love them all, but would have the hardest parting with RO and LT. The green is wonderful, and is probably a lot more versatile than it looks. Thank you for posting the pics.
I love them, love them, love them!

P.S. Isn't RO rumored to be reissued in the near future??

Hi Luvbolide,

Thank you, Yes I am still in dilemma.... I guess I will hang on to it first and try as much to play with them (you are right, it has to be before the baby...)

Yup, the RO is the most expensive one that I got, it was above retail ...:push:but I could not help myself :p

Innitially I wanted sous les oranges in the salmon pink colorway but changed my mind after I got myself this RO because the color is a little similar in my opinion

I love my Les Triples too, You have the pink color? That pink version is very sweet and lovely but hardly be seen and rare... The blue, white, lavender and turquoise is more common on ebay....;)

Sounds like you are still conflicted about what to do, so I would hang on to them and play with them for awhile (now - before the baby when you will be too busy!) Of all 3, I think the RO would fetch the highest price and would also be the most difficult to replace if you change your mind. They are all beautiful - I love Les Triples - I have the pink, it is so cheerful! You sure have some beauties!

Hi Bella,

Yup, the RO and Les Triples are lovely ... Yeah, I think the green is very unique and different.
You are most welcome. Glad you love the pictures too ;)

I heard about RO to be re-issued too but I am not sure when but I bet if they do, It is going to be in a different color ways and the older version is going to be more rare ... ;)

w.y.h, I got my Les Triples when I was expecting my second child. I didn't know his gender (he always turned away during the ultrasounds), so the only choice of colour was green (I didn't want the pink incase he was a boy -- which he turned out to be) -- and in the end this is my green scarf and it has a special memory to it. The original plan was to hang it on the wall of his nursery, it didn't happen; I wore it instead.

Best of luck with your pregnancy. Try tying the scarves. MaiTai is a great model for ideas (see the what scarf are you wearing thread).

Hi liness92,

Thank you, Les Triples indeed has special place in Many Mom's hearts. I kinda like the idea passing it down to my future daughters too.

I guess I will heed most of you ladies advice and try to play around with them first. I will check Mai Tai's post as you suggested

Hi LanguorousLass,

In a way, that was how I have been treating them. Like an artifacts in a museum. I love and admire their beauties (I really do) but never use them. My dilemma comes in if what I have been doing justifies owning them. But I guess, If I let them go, I will get some heartache too :p

I agree with bella. These scarves aren't just accessories; in a way, they're investment items and historical artifacts. They'll never go out of style. So you may want to pass them down to your child someday!

Oh, what a shame! Honestly, please do wear them. They are (literally) made to be worn. I've been wearing my two scarves lately and feeling really good about how I look. Today I got caught in the rain and my Flora Graeca got wet, but I just checked to see if it sustained any damage, and it looks just fine -- I can't even tell it got rained on.

You may or may not have seen this thread asking whether H scarves are sturdier than others. http://forum.purseblog.com/hermes/are-h-scarves-sturdier-than-other-scarves-286155.html The majority of posters seemed to think the answer is yes. Plus, Nancy ****** dragged her Hermes scarf collection all across the Middle East. (See this interesting column from the Washington Post's Pulitzer-Prize-winning fashion commentator, Robin Givhan. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/04/06/AR2007040600029.html) If they can survive a trip like hers, they should be able to survive your wearing them.

But if you're really uncomfortable about wearing them, what about the idea of displaying them somehow? My understanding is that framing them may cause some damage, but there's probably a thread somewhere in this forum that talks about other methods of display (damn the problems with the search function!).

Hi LanguorousLass, thank you for sharing you advice. Yes, I think I will try to wear them.... hopefully soon :p. I used to own other scarves (gift from others) and yes, I also think that H scarves definitely studier and much more lovely ( I do not know what comes out of my Non H scarves, usually I gave them away or they ust sit in my cabinet)

Thank you also for the lovely article. Very interesting indeed.

Hmmm.... I do not think I will frame the scarves. I can't find any place to hung them and I would prefer to be able to feel and touch the luxurious silk :smile1:. Yes, the search problem is really troublesome :cursing:

OK, I have decided .... the verdict is ...

After consulting so many many people, including my mom, my sis, my DH....
They all think I should sell 2 and keep 1 because they can hardly see me wearing the scarves....

Besides I so wanted a H Lindy in bright, cheery color :p

I will sell my Rencontre Ocean in salmon pink and my libre comme l'air in black and keep the Les Triples (Don't know why, maybe upcoming maternal instinct?)...Hopefully I don't regret this decision :smile1:

Just change my ebay user id name similar to my tpf name for better creditability as a TPF member

Thank you so much to everyone who have helped me in making the decision with all your valuable advices and inputs. You guys are great. I :heart:TPF ladies .... Have a great day !!!!
