Hi everyone,

I am in dilemma. I have so far have 3 beautiful Hermes Scarves all in the 35" size and in pristine condition. They are :

Rencontre Oceane in Light Salmon Pink

Les Triples in Apple Green

Libre Comme L'air in Black
with more green, brown tones (there is a more red version)

I bought them because I love the designs and artwork (and all the many creative ways to wear your scarves book) but alas until now I have not use them :hysteric:. They just sit on my closet.

I need help to decide, should I let them go? should I let go some? which ones?

I have just gotten a 35 birkin raisin box calf PH :yahoo:and I am thinking to get a twilly to match too. So far I have not have any twilly before.

Please give me some input. I do not want to regret my decision.

A million Thanks in advance. I will post pictures of the 3 scarves soon (need DH to fix my external hard disk first :p)

I don't know very much about scarves, but I would suggest you poke around ebay for a while and see if any of them come up for sale and at what prices, and sell the ones you can get the highest prices for? There's no point in keeping them if you don't wear them, really.

I definitely advise a twilly-- they look great on both bags and people. Good luck with your dilemma!

Okay, here are some pictures (to get some idea) from the reliable sellers I got them.

Except for the libre comme l'air that I just found (if these are your pictures, I am sorry for using them here)

I have not get the chance to take my own pictures but when I do, I will post them.

Hi anez,

Thank you for your kind advice. Yes, I thought I am going to wear them but alas, never so far ... I think the scarves have lovely designs though.

I would really love a twilly to match my birkin :smile1:

You can only judge it based on what others have sold for. I know the three triplets scarf can go for quite alot, I think one in blue recently sold for around $600

w.y.h.-----you have 3 beautiful and much sought after scarves. Why not look through the foeum on ways to fold the scarves and give it a try. They are so pretty and you might regret selling them. Yes you could probably buy them in the future on ebay but at what cost and you know the condition of them. Keep them. Don't buy any more. play with them. Then save for you future bag. Don't sell them. Just my 2 cents for waht it is worth.

Hi creature,

Yeah, that is what I am afraid off. Regretting selling them. I will do so, I will check out the forum on ways to fold the scarf. Actually, I got the 1998 hardcover book on how to fold the scarf, but still I just browse, never tried playing with them. Always thought I would but alas up till now, never....:s

The RO scarf is very desirable, but the price is very much affected by the colorway. I recommend that you put the three scarves on an eBay watch list so that you get an email when those designs are listed. Les Triples can also be popular, but I think the green color generally goes for less than other colors. I think you should get a good price for the black Libre Commes L'Air...I thought I saw someone talking about that scarf recently in one of the scarf collector groups.

But I agree that you should play with them first and see if you like them. I actually never do this myself, but take a little time to play with them and see how you like them tied. I am always so impressed by the ways some people tie their scarves.

Good luck with your decision!

Hi Luvbolide,

Thank you so much for your advice. I will take a look at the ways to tie the scarves again and decide later.

However, it seemed my decision now is leaning towards selling them. Or maybe keeping one of the three. Hmmm not sure which one to keep also.
I want to get a twilly for my birkin though :smile1:. Thank you so much once again for your kind input.

Here's a thought for you to consider. Keep one scarf which you will learn to tie and enjoy. Pick one that you think fits your wardrobe best or which coordinates with your Birkin/future Hermes bag purchases. Then you can let the other to go. But I think that every true Hermes lover needs to have at least one scarf.

Hi LaurieAnn,

That's an absolutely great idea. I think I will do like you suggest. Hmmm...now I only need to choose one out of the 3 of them. A little tough but at least the dilemma is not so bad. Thank you so much. :smile1:
