also, as you get older, jewelry shrinks.

plus, a TPFer once started a thread where she wore her 5 motif as a necklace by attaching it to a plain gold chain. I thought that was kind of interesting, and then you could somehow layer it with your pendant. . . Okay, now that I’ve typed that out, I’m not sure it’s a good idea, but I like playing with pieces. :D

Hahahah no mop really pop on my skin tone. Sorry I don’t know why I found this funny you must have really fair skin lol
I have tan skin since I am South American, so MOP really stands out on me. If MOP blends in, I would say go for Onyx, Carnelian or Malachite (but Malachite can be a finicky stone to deal with)

I'm asian with yellow undertones. Even my husband noticed the mop is blending on my skin. My SA let me choose from variety of mop bracelets and maybe the one I picked is dull? but all the mop bracelets in the boutique looks quite the same shade or maybe mop just doesn't suit my skin tone. :confused1:

Edit: I also have the onyx, carnelian, guilloche and now I'm thinking if I should let go of my mop.

I am Asian with yellow undertone as well but I’m a bit tanned. Maybe that’s why MOP still works for me

If it doesn't make your heart sing when you wear it, donʻt feel bad about letting your MOP go. I'm dark, so MOP and regular pearls really pop on my skin and I know it looks good objectively, but it doesn't make my heart sing, so I haven't considered it for me. I do admire how nice it looks on other ladies who love it though.

Hi all,

I’m very lucky to be receiving a VCA from a friend but I can’t choose which one for the life of me! Currently between the Onyx 5 motif vintage bracelet and the rose gold 6 motif sweet bracelet. I don’t live close to a boutique or retailer so I have to go off of photos.

Onyx pros:
- I already have an Onyx vintage pendant so they’ll match nicely!

Cons:
- I have tiny (13 cm/5 inch) wrists, and even w/ links removed, I’m worried about the motifs “overpowering” my small wrist. While I think VCA is typically pretty subtle, I go to a school where the design is common and known; I am intending on frequent wear (cost per wear and that hefty price tag!!) and if the motif is too big on me, I would hate for it to look super flashy, in your face-expensive, especially paired w/ my pendant. I’ve attached a picture of my vintage pendant on my wrist so you can see—it seems like just one motif already takes up all of my wrist LOL.
- Dislike that I’d have to take it on and off being Onyx. Removing my necklace for showering isn’t a big deal but clasp bracelets are annoying LOL.

Now for the Sweet!

Pros:
- biggest pro: all gold, so I could put it on and rarely take it off, I hate babying my jewelry.
- Solves the flashiness issue, lol.

Cons:
- It seems at first like the Sweet solves my problems of lack of subtlety...but then I worry that it’s TOO small!! (Wish there was an in between, lol.) As much as I fear being overly flashy I also fear having a friend spend a ton on a piece that I might be underwhelmed by later, you know?
- I also feel that rose gold A. has a tendency to blend into my skin and B. will not match the rest of my jewelry well—I pretty much only wear yellow gold and am not sure how mixed metals might look.

I am SO conflicted. For matching reasons I lean towards the Vintage; for material durability I lean towards the Sweet. But then I’m like, maybe taking Vintage off for the shower isn’t as big a deal as you think it is. Lol

Please help...and let me know what you think of the vintage on my wrist! Thanks in advance

I would go with 6 sweet Alhambra motifs for petite wrists! I love dainty jewelry :)
