Hi all,

I’m very lucky to be receiving a VCA from a friend but I can’t choose which one for the life of me! Currently between the Onyx 5 motif vintage bracelet and the rose gold 6 motif sweet bracelet. I don’t live close to a boutique or retailer so I have to go off of photos.

Onyx pros:
- I already have an Onyx vintage pendant so they’ll match nicely!

Cons:
- I have tiny (13 cm/5 inch) wrists, and even w/ links removed, I’m worried about the motifs “overpowering” my small wrist. While I think VCA is typically pretty subtle, I go to a school where the design is common and known; I am intending on frequent wear (cost per wear and that hefty price tag!!) and if the motif is too big on me, I would hate for it to look super flashy, in your face-expensive, especially paired w/ my pendant. I’ve attached a picture of my vintage pendant on my wrist so you can see—it seems like just one motif already takes up all of my wrist LOL.
- Dislike that I’d have to take it on and off being Onyx. Removing my necklace for showering isn’t a big deal but clasp bracelets are annoying LOL.

Now for the Sweet!

Pros:
- biggest pro: all gold, so I could put it on and rarely take it off, I hate babying my jewelry.
- Solves the flashiness issue, lol.

Cons:
- It seems at first like the Sweet solves my problems of lack of subtlety...but then I worry that it’s TOO small!! (Wish there was an in between, lol.) As much as I fear being overly flashy I also fear having a friend spend a ton on a piece that I might be underwhelmed by later, you know?
- I also feel that rose gold A. has a tendency to blend into my skin and B. will not match the rest of my jewelry well—I pretty much only wear yellow gold and am not sure how mixed metals might look.

I am SO conflicted. For matching reasons I lean towards the Vintage; for material durability I lean towards the Sweet. But then I’m like, maybe taking Vintage off for the shower isn’t as big a deal as you think it is. Lol

Please help...and let me know what you think of the vintage on my wrist! Thanks in advance <3

if your main concerns are the flashiness and the durability, how about the hammered rose or yellow gold 5 motif? i think the hammered pieces are a lot more subtle, especially in rose gold.
I do love them, mostly just a budget thing as I believe the YG 5 motif is ~ 5130 USD and the onyx 5 motif is 4000! I had a budget for the gift I don’t want to go over.

What are your thoughts otherwise? I’m beginning to lean gold for the durability but the pop of color IS so nice...

I'm biased. I have small wrists and I adore my 5 motif yg/onyx. I had it shortened, but I don't like my bracelets too tight, so it's still got enough drape to be comfortable without feeling like it'll fall off. Like you, the rose gold kind of blends into my skin tone, but I really like the delicate look of the sweets, which weren't released yet when I got my onyx.

Here's a repost with my agate princess bangles.

the yg hammered is $4250 https://www.vancleefarpels.com/us/e...e00---vintage-alhambra-bracelet-5-motifs.html
i think you might be thinking of the solid gold guilloche, which is $5350!

I'm biased towards 5 motif. I have teeny wrists too. And while I don't have one (I wish!) I think it looks stunning here on @Junkenpo!! Go with it! Plus you have the matching pendant!

yes the hammered gold is only$250 more than onyx! You can go with RG it blends in the skin really well so it is very subtle. Though I’d go with vintage hammered YG as you mentioned you want YG to match with rest of jewelries. I went with YG it’s still a subtle piece and it’s not flashy for me

I have 13.5 cm wrist and I tried the sweet 6 motifs. I can barely see the bracelet with RG on my skin tone lol. the 16 sweet necklace, on the other hand has the right amount of perfection, which has been on my wishlist!

Yes true for me too. Too small and the RG blends with my skin tone.

Sorry for being off topic, I don’t know if it’s just my skin tone, but have any of you ladies noticed the mop bracelet blending with your skin tone?

I vote get the VA oynx.
I am small, and the worse thing for me is to look dainty like a child or like a wimpy helpless woman. I like to look strong and independent. Therefore, I like bold jewelry. No dainty wimpy look for me.

As for looking flashy…
to your friends who know VCA, they will admire your beautiful set. To the other 99% of the population who has no idea of VCA, they will just think it’s a fun four leaf clover bracelet. It’s all good!

I say get the oynx. I love matchy matchy!

That’s my two cents to share my thoughts.
