I agree w/ Lola24 that the average eye cannot tell between ideal and very good cut especially they are sitting in your ear. If it's a ring, I would chose quality over quantity.
Before my upgrade, my DH bought me a pair of studs round 1.00 ctw VVS1 and D color, Ideal as wedding gift set in 4 prongs. I personally think 1.00 ctw is small. My lobes are small but I still prefer larger studs (I like larger sparkles). I recently upgrade larger stone 2.5ctw because I wanted larger in lesser quality not in VVS1 or D color, they are in VS1/VS2 and G color (i think.... need to check my spec doc). With your 3 options, the quality of those 3 are not far off.
