HELP!! Cartier Love Necklace or VCA Alhambra??

When my daughter was your age my husband and I bought her a YG turquoise vintage alhambra pendant for Christmas one year. To this day it is one of her most cherished possessions. Since you have made up your mind between the two pieces I think you need to just see which one you like the most-it has to be a personal decision. Don't worry about the piece holding its value because if you plan on keeping it in your family it will not matter. I can only speak for for VCA on that topic - and VCA has held its value throughout the years. You might want to consider one of the Holiday Pendants that have a diamond in the center. I think they are usually available in October and you can also get it engraved on the back with your initals which would even make it more special to pass on someday. May I ask which one do you find gets the most wear? I can't decide which stone to get, I'm leaning the most towards the turquoise but I worry that it will be hard to match outfits on the day to day. Do you find you have that trouble with your turquoise alhambra?

You have got me completely hooked on the alhambra with the diamond in the middle, I can't stop thinking about it now does it only come out in October? Does it come out in 1 specific colored stone or on all the of them?

Do you currently have any alhambras in your collection? I'd love to hear what you think about them in terms of daily wear, since they come in so many colored stones are they easy to match outfits with?

I only have one piece at present although I have ambitions for more! I decided upon solid yellow gold as I wanted to wear it every day in all conditions and felt that would be the most robust. I have a 10 motif necklace. It is very heavy but looks great. I'm hoping it will last well. I think the other stones might need a bit more care.

Turquoise is not currently in production.
Beware of evil bay because most of the turquoise listed is not authentic.

I think I saw somewhere it was going to be onyx in pink gold this year? Interesting combo!

I think they're both pretty obvious. The Cartier looks like Cartier just as much. I was never a fan of this necklace, though - reminds me of handcuffs, and a bit too delicate-looking for me.

Here's a question - I understand 30% over current retail, but how do you know what current retail is for something that is not usually made? Is it 30% over a pg 20 motif? Or a yg mop?
