Hi, I am trying to get a Birkin (35cm I think) for my wife. I will be in London & Florence next week - is it possible to get one in the shop? and if not, could I place an order and have them courier it to me (saw it somewhere in this Forum). Pricing wise - any idea the price in Florence vs London (this Forum suggest £5500). Is Paris still the cheapest at Euro5900? I am hoping to get a better price with recent FX volatility. I would really appreciate anyone's help on this.

In London birkin 35s go for a £5xxx number, but to be honest you'll be very hard pressed finding one available at the boutique. They are very difficult to come by.

Across Europe, the pricing for a Birkin is very similar to Paris, even if there is a difference for franchised stores or otherwise, it could possibly only be about 50 euros or so...if you are trying to find out which part of Europe has the cheapest Birkin, I really think there isn't much of a difference, it will more likely be "where is the place with the highest chance to score a birkin?" In which case, my answer would be Paris. On the other hand, if you strictly want the Italy pricing for a Birkin, my reply would be that it wouldn't differ much from Paris. HTH!

Many thanks. I did check out both threads earlier. But there is no pricing for Florence or Italy, only for London, Paris etc. Anyone knows pricing in Italy for a Birkin.

Hi I was in the Sloane Street branch in London today and heard someone ask for a Birkin to which the answer was ' no chance' ! I have seen one Birkin in London in the last 18 months, so it is very unlikely you will get one here.

I was in Florence a couple of weeks ago - their inventory was very sparse but it doesn't hurt to try in case they got a shipment(s) between then and when you got. I would think that if you could get to Paris, that may be your best bet. If you do get to Paris, hit all the stores. One little story, all the Birkins that I saw being purchased at FSH was by men! Good luck!

Hi guys
Thanks so much for all your input. We got lucky in Florence! Was offered an ostrich parchment 30in birkin (E10,900, as you guys nailed, similar to Paris pricing). Twice what I thought I would be paying but I took it anyway. Wife ecstatic, big fan of ostrich skin and thought parchment ostrich beyond elegant... what a way to own her first birkin!
For what it is worth, my first visit to the store got us nothing - they went, nope no Birkin. and won't take orders, citing heavy tourist traffic. SAs were professional and impressive, and not too snooty with a clueless man. Short listed a small orange Kelly and some croc wallets. Went back again with wife to see them. She picked out some scarfs, shortlisted a couple of wallets. Toyed with the mini Kelly but she thought it wld look better with exotic skin. SA brought out diamond clasped (H) purple crocodile wallet which my wife likes. and next thing you know, we were offered the Birkin!
cheers
