He lost my ring... (sad)

How sad! I hope you are able to find your ring. In the future, you might want to think about keeping your rings in a dish or on a ring holder- it makes it harder for them to roll/bounce/fall/get brushed off a table.

That, sucks, I know how you feel. I've never lost anything permanently, but I've come close.

Usually I find that my ring has bounced directly behind the leg of a dresser, or somewhere that takes it out of sight.

Would a metal detector work? Isn't that what they use at the airport? You can keep your gold jewelry on and it doesn't beep, so I don't know if a metal detector would help find it.

It might be under the computer equipment, if it's small enough to slide under a harddrive, printer, etc. Unless one of the movers took it which is possible...

I placed a pearl pendant on top of the harddrive and I lost it. I found it almost a decade later. It was in the same room but in a container. I can't remember ever putting it in the container.

My husband lost his wedding band and that too, went MIA for 7 years. I finally found it among some boxes... we have too much in our lives, no wonder we can't find anything plus we're both hopelessly absent-minded.

Now wait for the piece de resistance.... I lost the diamond from my engagement ring one day on the way to work. I had actually took a spill on the pavement and didn't even realize until I felt my ring. I ran back to the same spot and found the diamond embedded in the tar, point side down. It had been a very hot day (I was sort of lightheaded that day). This was right along 42nd Street in NYC!!! If it's yours, it's meant to come back to you.

So keep your hope up, it is possible your DF laid it somewhere else instead, like in his pocket or dresser or even medicine cabinet?

Sorry! I've lost jewelry before and found it in wierd places your DF probably misplaced it. I'd get insurance for your engagement ring. I got it for mine and its such a relief. Completely worth it, I'm covered against loss or theft.

Your ring is beautiful, sorry it is lost. Hopefully you can find it.

This is my relating story: When my hubby bought me my engagement ring we were living in Italy. We were in the process of moving as well, back to the states. I took my ring off to put it in cleaner because it was dirty. Well hubby was throwing away stuff we weren't taken with us, and he threw the cleaner out with my ring in it. It was the most gorgeous 24kt ring I've ever seen. It still makes me sad to think about it.
