Everyday I always take off my rings before I go to bed. Then I give it to DF to put on the computer desk. (The jewelery I don't wear often are in tucked away in a jewelery box.) That night I gave him my engagement ring and the first diamond ring he ever gave me, my promise ring. The next day I went to my desk and put on my engagement ring, and then it was gone. My promise ring was missing. And it hasn't shown up since. Plus we were in the middle of moving rooms and furniture and buying new house stuff so I don't think I'll ever find it again. DF doesn't even want to look for it, so lazy!!

I totally miss my ring. :crybaby:Now I don't even feel comfortable wearing my engagement ring because I'm scared I'll lose that!! I don't give my rings to DF anymore, I put em away myself instead.

Aw, I am so sorry! Do you have pets? I've found that if I accidently drop jewelry on the floor, my cats find it quite quickly.

My husband actually lost his wedding ring in the house & he won't let me get him another one. I haven't given up hope of finding it, and you shouldn't give up yet, either! You'll find it when you're least expecting it, I bet.

Well we've moved a lot of the rooms around and got a lot of new furniture, and the painters have been in and out of the house. So what may have happened is it fell to the ground and our feet may have shuffled it and someone found it and took it. Or it fell into a vent. No pets. DF lost another ring of mine 2 1/2 years ago, found it randomly sitting on top of the piano all bent out of shape and the stone about to fall off. Then he lost the diamond band I got him 2 years ago, we never found it again. I'm scared and don't even want to wear my engagement ring anymore!! I'd rather wear a cheapy ring instead and lost that than the expensive one!!

So sorry. When it's dark, keep the lights off and look for it using a torch. It may have fallen from the table and bounced somewhere.

Yep a normal flashlight. It's best if the room's REALLY dark. Also, try to get down low on the floor and sweep the beam almost parallel to the floor. How deep is the carpet? You might also try either vaccuuming with a clean bag in or sweeping your hand over the floor area.

Thanks for the tip. It's hard wood floor. But its like dusty with wires and what not behind the desk. Will have to search a lot when all the furniture is outta the room.

I hope I really find it too. DF still says its not lost.. Pshh he STILL doesnt admit he lost his diamond band.. and it's been over two years since its been "misplaced". PSHHH!! "Misplaced" is a fancy word for "LOST" sucker!!

Poor you.. Recenly i lost in gym (probably when i take shower) my ring with diamonds, it was the gift from my darling.. so i understand what do you feel.

But keen on finding! Ask youf friends maybe to help you! Look anywhere (even in vacuum cleaner))) It worth it!

i lost some earrings, i found them...but someone had recommended a metal detector. you may be able to rent one at one of those places that rents equipment.

not positive, but if you have carpeting or such...it may help
