they said they'll ship but then have to charge mainland prices. hawaii prices are mainly cheaper as they adjust them relative to japanese prices, because mainly their target customer in hawaii is the japanese tourist. so just for hawaii they adjusted them down, so can't open that up to rest of the US. and yup, i did work with a very sweet SA there in ala moana, let me know if you want her info!
Yes, definitely cheaper! When we went year before last we happened to be there during sales season. Imagine our surprise! Congrats on your new beauties!
