The first robbery: police arrested the robber but all of our stuff was gone.

The second robbery: robber was unknown. We does not think it was planned. Our insurance finally paid us on the weekend after 1 year later. Gosh! It took them forever.

wow, did it really take your insurance company a year to send you a check? that's insane.

i lost my original e-ring a year and a half after we were married and our insurance company (allstate at the time) sent us a check for the replacement a few weeks later. maybe since it was a robbery and still under investigation it's something more complex, idk, but a year seems so crazy! i would go nuts waiting that long.
