... only to find out that it doesn't look good ON YOU at all?

Just had that experience recently, which never happened to me before... it happened to me plenty of times w/ clothes, sunglasses, whatever, but never w/ bags!

Went to Celine boutique to look at some Trapeze bags, which I have been wanting for a couple of years... no HG bags or anything, but I thought they were pretty and I have seen them on other people looking great, so I naturally thought they would look good on me. Nope! Not the case. Looked beautiful on the shelf, but on me it was ALL WRONG.

Has this ever happened to YOU?? Please tell me I am not alone!!!

Happened to me with the LV Alma bag. Went to the store to get the pm size but it just looked too small on me, like a child's bag, and I'm not a big girl. The SA brought out the mm and what a difference! The bags aren't terribly different in size but the little extra room in the mm makes the bag perfect. Left with an Alma mm in epi noir. Love that bag! :smile1:

For sure, as a very petite lady loads of bags look like the bag is carrying me! lol i have to be cautious to not overbag myself...

I am very short as well- barely 5 feet tall- so I do understand your concern! I have found that if the bag is more on the *structured* side for instance, i.e. Chanel Jumbo or Maxi, I can pull it off. No-no is a humongous hobo bag or anything of that sort! But those don't look good to me in pics either anyway :D

For me most Bottega Veneta bags (anything with short shoulder strap) look awful. It's sad because I love their woven leather

Do all BV bags have short shoulder strap? I don't know much about BV bags, tbh... contrary to you, I don't really like the look of the woven leather look... :ninja: short shoulder strap would really bother me too!

I had never heard of this bag before so I looked it up. I think I can see how it could be not the most flattering bag. What attracted you to the bag before you tried it on? Just curious.

I really like the belt buckle closure (the PM size is truly an attractive bag) but once "filled" it sags in an awkward way against the body. :crybaby:

Can't think of any specifically, but it happens with a lot of bags that are meant to be carried in the crook of your arm for me. If the proportion of the straps to the bag are off, it looks off-balance.

Not all, mainly the Campana, Veneta, and certain shoulder bag styles. It's especially awkward on me if it happens to be a larger bag or very structured. Their messenger styles are great! I used to not like BV at all, but people change...:graucho:
