ok success. I spoke to her and she said she was not expecting this to even be an issue and she will speak to the store that sent it. She asked that I send it back to her so she can look at what I am talking about. Any advice at this time like should I keep the receipt and whatnot?

Please make a copy of a receipt or any paperwork involved with the transaction and sending it back. Get a delivery confirmation for the extra $$.

Will do! Thanks everyone for your input. I was checking the scarf out again today before I send it off, and guess what? I found a complete round thread pull - round and sticking out that I had not seen the other day!!!

My SA was lovely about it, said to send it to her so she can examine what I was talking about. Will update you all - many thanks for your responses...I am relieved I was not being unreasonable, and so glad that expecting perfection is not equated with being anal! :)

Bordelle, I would find that unacceptable and send it back. I would also contact the SA before I send it back and explain the condition it arrived in. There is no excuse for that and I am extremely surprised that H would send it out like that.

Thanks, Rose. This is what I thought, but since this was my first purchase over the phone (I am used to checking out each individual piece in a boutique) I wasn't sure, you know? I did speak to my SA and I was more apologetic than anything, and she too was nice - I didn't want this to be a bad experience for me or her since it's myfirst purchase with this particular SA...:s:shame:

Thank you everyone for your input and support. The scarf is on it's way back to my SA with a copy of the receipt and a letter to her indicating precisely where the defects can be found (and since I am a visual person I also drew a little square with a legend lol).

She's been lovely over the phone, I hope she finds what I was referring to as appalling as I did.

Another thing, I do have other pieces I have been eyeing, and I am wondering if I should just get those from her in exchange for this - since I do not want another experience like this if she ends up shipping me something from another store without previewing it. Would that be too much to ask?

I don't think it would be too much to ask. As I understand you, you would simply return the original scarf and would purchase something else. I think H offers merchandise credit for returns anyway. If you decide to go that way, I'd call your SA ASAP and let her know so that she can just take the scarf in as a return and then ring up the new purchases.

I'm glad you were able to return it and were treated nicely by your SA. I would have found the threads unacceptable too. The uneven corners I have noticed on my 70x70 after a lot of wear so it is ok for me.

Just a quick update, my SA received it yesterday and I asked her to look for some gavroches/twilly's because this experience left a bad taste in my mouth and I prefer buying from whatever stock they ahve in store so taht she can examine it and I am assured of quality. I have not heard back from her since I left her 2 voicemails last night and she had said to me she is going on vacation this weekend...wonder if I am getting a blow-off??? lol
