Has anyone purchased the New Mulberry Alexa mini

Turn lock and magnets are certainly something to get used to. But me, coming from a bag background with either of those, it actually doesn't bother me. It's so cute on its own and the positives outweighs the negatives. It fits everything I need and I'm very happy with it.
Thanks for the input! It's such a cute bag, so I'm glad to hear there's more pros than cons to it. There's nowhere for me to look at it in person, so I'd be buying it online, sight unseen, which I don't usually like to do with bags. Just makes my decision harder!

You can get it from the Mulberry website and try it on. You're able to return if you think the bag doesn't fit your style. You just never know until you got the bag in your hands.

I can post positives about it all day but the feeling of owning and wanting a bag is very much individual. It applies to every single bag out there. Good luck and happy new year!

I brought my old version Alexa and bayswater shoulder in the same time 10 years ago (2011) in Finland Helsinki, after decade continually use, turn lock on my both bags are still 100% strong and without any issues except scratch. (scratch never bothers me, im not bag slave)

so im 100% confident with mulberry turn lock and I planning to go to store to pick up my second Alexa tmr!! so exciting!!!!

My comment about the turnlock was due to the number of bags I see for sale preloved and they comment on how the lock has loosened. It’s never happened to me as I’ve not owned a Mulberry long enough for that to happen. Perhaps the sellers of these ‘loosened turnlock’ bags are the ones to be avoided rather than the bag style itself!

I still stand by the fact that the Alexa is a fiddly bag to open and close so not for me unfortunately.

Interested in your comments about the Mulberry Postman’s Lock. I pretty much exclusively carry bags with turn locks, either mulberry or coach. I have quite a few with the postman’s lock. I’ve never had any issues with it at all. I don’t find the Alexa hard to get in and out of either, especially when it’s worn crossbody. I have two Alexa’s and they are my favourite bags!

Hi,

I never meant to say that the quality is bad, I haven’t had any problems with the postman’s lock either. BUT, I think it’s super fiddly to use combined with the long straps and the magnet locks that are quite strong on the new Alexa. And since the bag is very supple with no support in the “bag wall” it’s difficult in my opinion to close it since the bag wall gives/caves in and makes it difficult to get the flap properly onto the “turning” part so that you can close the bag if that makes sense? As always, I think the mini Alexa is beautiful and the leather good, I just don’t like the opening/closing mechanism.

I had a nightshade, silky snake Alexa which I took on a trip to London with my daughters. It was hands free, surprisingly spacious and the combination of turnlock and magnets made it less easy for pickpockets to plunder it!
