Harry Winston vs NY Diamond district

The difference between branded jewelry and no-name (with the exception of unique artist-created designs) is largely a matter of marketing and shopping experience. The quality of materials is different.

However, there is a difference in the amount of work you need to put in to custom jewelry. You need to know what is good and what is not, and judge between them. With branded jewelry, you can be lazy - you don't need to know the optimal table to depth ratio of a diamond or the other factors that determine diamond quality - the 4Cs have you covered. The branded companies also provide after market service, resale value and bragging rights.

I thought those listed above made settings, not cut diamonds.

I have no idea. I seem to have gotten lost here! But I would certainly love a list of great places to get cut diamonds without having to pay the premium for a particular name. I have some name pieces; for me, the draw is the design. However, if I'm in the market for a basic style such as a tennis bracelet, I'm not sure where to go. Would my list be good for that?

Super ideal cut stones? Crafted By Infinity. CBI. I saw a 2+ carat irl and blows Tiffany out of the water, IMHO. Edge to edge sparkle and big sparkles. Arrows constantly flashing at you. You have to look up the website and find a dealer near you. Whiteflash A CUT ABOVE (ACA). My understanding is the Brian of Brian Gavin Diamonds set their cut parameters before venturing out on his own at BGD. ACA is WHITEFLASH's proprietary line. My one carat is great, and it's only their Expert Selection line, which means it just missed ACA. For settings I would also look at SingleStone, but get ready to pay through the nose. Their work is unbelievably fine. Leans toward antique styles. Erika Winters. Modern, romantic very beautiful. Look her up.

Victor cuts his own super ideal line of MRBs and antique round and antique cushion cuts. He will also set outside stones. His Antique cushion and rounds are spectacular! Huge chunky flashes of rainbow colors. You have to see it.

Leon has a line I believe.

Erika winters and SingleStone do settings and sell antique stones, but do not cut their own line.

Brian Gavin is for sure a cutter. He has settings too but not hand forged platinum at the level of Canera and Kirsch. If working with Leon, I would check out Pricescope reviews first. Up to you of course.
