I have decided to purchase a HW pear solitaire pendant. I am stuck between two sizes and was wondering which everyone thinks would be best. The .73 is on the right, and the .83 is on the left. I know it's not the biggest difference, but I dont want to get smaller and regret later. I also don't want to spend an additional $1,700 if there is a barely a difference. This is for everyday wear, I like delicate, more subtle pieces. I cant try it on in person, this would need to be shipped to me. Basically, do you think the .73 is more than sufficient or is the .83 worth the bit extra? Absolutely gorgeous pendant in either size! I do see a noticeable size difference though in the photo of them side by side, so if you can afford it I would say that it is worth buying the .83.

I also personally prefer the stone in the bigger pendant.
this is what im thinking. I dont want to end up regretting it later, and I agree the stone looks a bit nicer in the .83

Both are gorgeous, I would feel extremely lucky to have either. But… the bigger stone is a bit nicer, with more pleasing proportions, IMHO. If I could easily afford it, I would choose the bigger one as I tend to forget prices after a year or two, but have the piece forever :D

At this point, depends on the price difference, really. The size difference is discernible, of course. But it’s not as big a difference as 0.20 carats.

If the 0.83 pendant were $10,000 more, then I probably would save that money for something else. If the bigger one were only $1,000 more, then I would go bigger. In this case, since the price difference is $1,700, I would go with the larger one. Diamond shrinkage is a thing. And that extra 0.10 carats will probably make you feel better mentally in the long run. I doubt you will regret going for the larger one, I mean.

But if I had the choice, I would probably save my money and go with a pear that just barely meets 1.00 carats. I feel that when thinking about purchasing psychology, whole carat sizes make me feel better.

I would love a 1.00 carat, but I feel like for my style, its too big for everyday wear
