Very weird, can't see anything but the headline.

You could put the duffle sac in for Coach 1988. It was released in the 70s but has remained popular over time.
There is the classic pouch, which was introduced in 1970. It was never called a saddle bag until Coach revised history when they made the most recent saddle bags. What about the Coach Saddle bags. I'm supposing 1970s, but whereabouts? Mid-ish?

The bag pictured in this recent Coach ad was called the small shoulder bag, not saddle bag, and was introduced in the 1980s
View attachment 4243075There was the stewardess, mentioned in the ad above and made for the airlines as well as for general sale.View attachment 4243079
View attachment 4243080 There was a saddle pouch released in the early 80s. I think of these, the stewardess was probably the most popular. Over time, I think the duffle sac is probably Coach's most popular bag.
There isn't a lot of information about that. I think they must have made more classic pouches than anything else because there are lots on ebay, and most of those were made in the 70s and 80s. It was declared by the founder of Coach as the first Coach bag, but that isn't really true. I think he was trying to discount the contribution of Coach's first designer, Bonnie Cashin. Her designs were more elaborate and cost more to produce. I think that is one of the reasons she left. He was always trying to simplify the designs to save money. That's why this bag has no lining, few pockets, and minimal hardware. So interesting, thank you. I want one!
Which year do you think these gorgeous bags where at their height of popularity?

I bought some in the 80s too, one a year, and donated each one after I got the new one. I could kick myself too. I can't even remember what mine looked like. I've probably bought similar ones on ebay. I didn't know you could wash and condition them to make them new again.Thank you for all this info! I had the small shoulder bags (now called saddle) in the mid to late 1980s. I cannot believe I donated them to charity as they temporarily fell out of fashion (they were not in great condition either). I also could kick myself for donating an old mark cross bag. Ugh.
Great info
