Hall of Shame: Post the Ebay H Fakes Here!

The seller claims this Cuirs du Desert has been bought at and authenticated by Vestiaire Collective. Maybe, they are not infallible: https://www.ebay.de/itm/HERMES-Carr...608294?hash=item343e9a7126:g:nH8AAOSwJDhgUMoX

The same goes for the Cavalcadour:

La Femme aux Semelles de Vent 90, TRR:

Fake LFSdV - Rose color

Is there a way to report fakes to TRR?
Another one where I am on the fence .. yes the colors are garish BUT that could be due to photohopping

I would have to D/L the photos and examine under photoshop to be certain - then compare to reference photos - a lot of my time for a scarf no one is buying

I prefer not to say this is a fake, without doing the due diligence, I am on the fence and give the seller the benefit of the doubt

If you are concerned then email the seller for more info and work

It was the tiger pelt border panel transitioning from pink to brown/orange that sealed it for me - the real one is orange transitioning to tan/cream. Here's an image from HSCI: LFSdV - Vieux Rose . Otherwise, yes, I agree that a lot of the coloration issues could be written off as photoshop/lighting issues.

Is there a good way to email TRR about authenticity issues? The best I can see is just the general contact@ address. Is there a better route that anyone has found? Has anyone found whether they are receptive to folks raising concerns?

Edit: Okay, I'm coming around to the possibility that a truly mind-boggling combination of slider settings could turn orange to pink. The contrast levels on the medallions are completely odd, not to mention that yes, there is just an overly-vibrant cast to the images; maybe the combination of all of those settings could morph orange to pink. The detail markings (from what I can see compared to the small HSCI image) aren't totally unreasonable, so I'll back off on this one.

It is kind of you to want to follow up on this, but honestly, I wouldn’t waste my time. TRR usually ignores notifications that they are selling fakes. Even when items are returned to them on the basis that the items are not authentic, TRR simply lists them again for sale. Right now they have one of those ridiculous polyester fake Feux d’Artifice jackets listed for $1,250. They are ridiculous and couldn’t care less about what they sell. Same thing happens with items returned because of undisclosed issues with condition. They re-list without changing the description on the website.

Big caveat emptor with these guys.

All I know is the contact form at TRR
FaS goes for such premiums that checking the details is mandatory, title, copyright etc
And the flip side is not wanting to victimize the seller ...
there was a recent purple and lime (sic) Lumieres de Paris that might have been real
it takes along time to review the badly presented ones
And as to the photos at HSCI ... many were donated by me and I have always said I do awful photos and yes I do photoshop mine. Regular people donated a lot of those photos and sometimes they are not of professional quality
that said HSCI is such an invaluable resource and has been forever

Yep, the Lumieres de Paris was me. :amuse: I think we determined it was an authentic example of the blue cw but that the seller somehow really threw off the color balance of the photos. I decided not to pursue, and someone did eventually buy it; I hope it was a tPFer!

I do appreciate your wanting to give sellers the benefit of the doubt for as long as possible. Thank goodness for all the resources that we do have to try to do our due diligence before purchasing.

Agree it takes a village and help is much appreciated, thanks Fifi

And independent verification bonus ...
i did check my FaS in the green cw, blue tiger stripes - I too have white dots
remember the Turandot that some marks missing in the middle ... or Parures de Sam also a missing bit on the skirt...
it does help to check all the CWs, well, two of FaS are dotted

ok I love green and blue tiger ... no one else has to ...
