I was looking at the H website under the "Home, Outdoor, and Equestrian" > "Equestrian and Dog" > "Rider" section. I noticed that there are a lot of outdoor apparel and general purpose workout clothes (and also yoga clothes) listed as well as the typical Equestrian wear. Does anyone know how these items are classified? Do they all go under Equestrian, or is it RTW? I didn't even bother looking at this section before but the outdoor wear seem stylish and functional. Thanks for helping out this newbie.

try expeimenting buying items from the equestrian line from your SA. When i did, she offered me a bag... idk it might have been coincidental. lol... I mean she was even eager to sell me the tops on the mannequin. I did buy the fit leggings though.

Thanks for your reply. How is the fit of the Fit leggings? Is it very tight like actual horse riding pants?

It is actually very tight. I dont know how horse riding pants are supposed to fit though. I got the size medium: im usually a size 2 or 25 in pants, It’s too long for me; should have gotten the petite sizing which i didnt know was an option. I may buy the white colored fit leggings in petite… just on the fence since i dont know how white colored pants would look on a petite noncurvy silhouette.

I bought the fit leggings in black- and I love them! They fit small- so go up a size! I am 5’6 and a small size 6. I bought the large. I fit the medium, but they felt really tight ( in the back of legs). The large looked better on me imo- and they do not sag and feel bigger when wearing. Length is perfect for me too. I am not curvy either the fabric is exceptional!

Ok I see! Thanks so much for your comments. They were very informative! I'll ask my SA the next time I am in the store.

I got a warm up fleece from the equestrian collection in orange. My husband has the same one in dark gray/brown. I ride in mine sometimes, but mostly I use it for walking around. It’s quite nice but it ran SO SMALL. I am usually a small, and I needed a large.

I have other preferred equestrian brands so I don’t really look at Hermes for that. I do have all of H horse brushes and go through a lot of saddle oil for my saddle and Hermes bags.

Has anyone purchased the country horse riding parka? I know it is under the equestrian line, but it looks like it would make a wonderful equivalent of a trench coat for spring and I wanted some opinions on those who have it or have seen it!

It is clearly designed for riding your horse in bad weather. It is heavily waterproofed and has multiple features for that purpose, like straps for your legs (so the coat doesn’t fly open when you ride), a wide opening in the bag (so that coat drapes over your saddle, protecting it and the horse), and it is wider in general (same idea, it needs to drape over the horse). It feels like buying it for every day life is overkill. It is also not very breathable as it is essentially a fancy raincoat.

The white seems an odd barn choice given that it would be immediately brown in several spots as soon as your wet horse got anywhere near you. Rubbed their head on you. Snoogy sneezed on you. I feel like I spend my life doing horse laundry. I guess it’s made to get wet so cleaning it would be easy?

They do have a dark option, but I was thinking the same. I have to wash everything wear to the barn every single time, because my horse loves to have a snack and loving nuzzle/drool on me.

It must be easy to spot clean. But I would guess most horse people are not going to be running to the boutiques to buy the white one.
