Hi I've never posted here before hope this is the right section etc.

Bought a small soho disco bag in black and it's so beautiful. Never owned a Gucci bag before but really impressed :)

Anyway, I'm quite tall and my chest is fairly sizeable? Not sure how to put that - so even on the largest setting across body it comes up a little shorter than other bags I wear cross body, to the point where I was going to return it. Before I do, would anyone here even consider punching an extra hole in the strap? I tried it on where it would sit if an extra hole was added (equal distance from the last one, and it'd be perfect. Just I've never altered a bag like this before.. So wondered what you all think/would do?

Any opinions welcome, thanks :) x

Yes of course you should do it! I alter bags and belts like this all the time, and I have an extra hole in my Disco to make the strap shorter. Any good cobbler would do, but it if makes you feel better, you can go to your local Gucci store and ask them to do it for you.

Ah thank you so much! I had no idea Gucci would do it either :)

Might look for a local cobbler first as it'd be easier, thank you for the info :D

Yes do it or don’t wear crossbody and wear on shoulder
Yea I just know that cross body is so much easier, plus I can always shorten strap still for over the shoulder use.

I just think if I couldn't wear it cross body I wouldn't keep it, because it needs to be functional too for me :)

One extra hole can't hurt but get it done by a professional

Ah I did it myself with a punch tool thing made for this kind of thing, matched the hole size perfectly and measured to it was even, looks perfect  thanks for advice

Well you sound like you know what you are doing, a professional would have done the same thing. Well done

Not really [emoji38] just bought the tool and gave it a go, glad it turned out okay tbh, I practiced on a old belt first

So glad to hear it turned out well! Would you mind sharing with me what tool you used please? I'm thinking of adding an extra hole to my new Ophidia mini bag, because the strap is quite long on my 5'3" frame. Thank you :)

Yeah. Do share your handiwork and the tool you used. I think Ace Hardware or Bed Bath and Beyond sells something like that. I've been meaning to get one. It's really such aa simple job, most professionals wouldn't even charge you for it.

Hey, so I'm in the UK, so I bought this tool, sure there's loads like them all over the place though :)

Was really impressed by it, I used the 2mm setting for the bag, and here are the pictures of the holes all together, and how much sticks out when it's on the new hole. Worn it out on the new hole yesterday and today, was perfect :D not the best pictures ever sorry [emoji38]IMG_20181117_170301.jpegIMG_20181117_170421.jpeg
