I posted this in The Glass Slipper as well, but I wasn't sure if I should've put it there or here. Apologies if I've made a misstep!

Has anyone purchased or tried on the Jolie (aka "Women's Slide with Double G") sandals?

I really need to get a pair of go-with-everything, dress up or down sandals in brown. My feet are problematic, however (left is 6D, right is 6.5C, and I have narrow ankles), so finding shoes for my wide toe box is always difficult. I've only found a few reviews of these online, and of course they're conflicting, lol. Anyone know how they fit? I currently live in middle-of-nowhere USA, so I won't have a chance to try on in person anytime soon. :(

Also...I am all ears for other suggestions on a comfortable brown sandal for wide feet. I like the Marmont Thong Sandal as well, so if those are wide-width friendly I'd consider them, but I prefer the slightly (IMHO) dressier look of the Jolie. I've also read some reviews that claim the Marmont doesn't hold up very well, so that makes me a little nervous.

Thanks in advance for any information or ideas you might be able to share!

I love Marmont Thong! They fit perfect for me.

I decided to go ahead and pull the trigger on the slide sandals...ordered from NAP to take advantage of a $100 AMEX statement credit offer. They were only available (and in low stock) in 6.5...I'm nervous about this because of my wide feet and would have liked to try a size 7 as well. Here's hoping they fit! I'll report back once I've received them so that others who may be interested in them can benefit from my thoughts. I'm hopeful that they will work out since most people (even those without wide feet) seem to go up 1/2 size in the Princetowns, and my size 7 Princetowns fit perfectly and are very comfortable. Fingers crossed that my Gucci luck continues!

I love the Jolie. I want them in canvas. I've been watching youtube videos to see how they look with various outfits and on the foot.

One thing that I do with my shoes is to wear a pair of socks and lightly warm the shoes with a hair dryer (make sure you don't roast/melt them) so they better mould to my feet. My right foot is slightly larger than the left. Not a whole half size but enough for me to notice. Hope the shoes fit, all the best with them.

Did you try them on? I think the leather ones look really nice too. They can be dressed up or down. I have the horsebit and zumi slides. They are so comfy.

No, I haven't tried them on yet. I'm at least a 4 hour drive from any store that would have them, sadly! I did order them from NAP 3 days ago, but they haven't shipped yet, so I'm guessing it will probably be a week before I receive them.

How are the Zumi in terms of width? DSW actually has them in brown right now for a steal, but several reviews mention that they run narrow, so that kind of scared me off a bit. I suppose I could try sizing up to a 7, but that doesn't always solve my width problem, unfortunately.

I had wondered if the video you posted was the one of the ones you'd watched! I have watched that one several times, and the young woman in it says she has wide feet and that they fit great. However, they look to me like she has a lot of extra length in the toe area, and she says she "took her regular size" but never mentions what that size is. I actually messaged her to ask what her true size is and whether she sized up in these, but never got a response (not that I blame her...I know the video is old).

I got the Zumi from DSW and the Horsebit from Jomashop. The Horsebit gave me trouble on my left foot. I wear a size 8. The right foot is fine. I have wide feet and a high instep. I put the left shoe in stretcher and it seems to be working.

The Zumi is a perfect fit for me in an 8. They are super comfortable and the color is stunning. They are the same width as my horsebit but the leather across the top is not as tight. Like I said, I have wide feet and a high instep and they fit me fine.

A little update on the Jolie, for those who may be interested.

My order finally arrived, and sadly, I decided to return them. The good news is, these sandals were plenty wide for my feet, and a perfect fit in size 6.5. When I tried them on initially on a tiny 2x3 rug I keep in my closet for trying on shoes, I was positively delighted with the fit and how beautiful the sandals are. But I remembered from the few reviews I read online that several people mentioned that the leather is stiff and uncomfortable when you walk, so I took them downstairs to my daughter's 5x7 area rug to try to emulate "real-life sized steps" (how many times have shoes seemed comfy in-store but when I go to walk in them taking normal sized steps out in real life situations they are uncomfortable?!?). Unfortunately, after trying this I understand what those reviews are talking about. The strap presses hard and rubs against my big toe and the top of my foot when I take normal sized steps, and I'm not sure that any amount of "breaking in" would necessarily correct this issue, since it isn't that the sandals aren't wide enough (there's actually plenty of breathing room for them, even on my wider left foot). For shoes at this price point, I don't want to risk that they won't soften...I have made too many expensive mistakes with shoes in the past that I thought would "break in" but ended up being display pieces in my closet. I think I'm going to try the Hermes Oran next. I've seen a lot more reviews on those claiming that they do indeed soften and become comfortable over time, so hopefully I can fit my duck feet in them. At any rate, the search for the perfect brown sandal continues!

Thanks for the update. Did you order the Zumi one or just the Marmont?

I didn't order the Zumi yet because it sold out in my size on DSW. It's widely available at full price though, so I figured I would just hold off and try it on in person. My husband and I were fortunate to get our first vaccine doses recently and will be fully vaccinated by the end of the month, so we plan to take a weekend getaway/shopping trip to Chicago (our closest major shopping city) after that. I figured that the Gucci store, or one of the department stores, should have them, and that as long as I can't get the discounted price anyway I might as well wait. My main motivation for ordering the Jolie when I did was to take advantage of the AMEX offer...but it has expired now. :(

Oh ok. Enjoy your shopping trip! Sounds like fun. I live in Southern California so I have Gucci stores that are fairly close but I enjoy shopping in Las Vegas more even though its hours away. Hope you find something you will love.
