Hermes, Dior, Chanel and Burberry employees have even stricter contracts. At
Gucci, at least you can be (real) friends with clients, be follow/be followed on SM, accept a bunch of flowers, wine or crocs, and generally it's more fun. Gucci retail employees get a lot of benefits and certainly more money than many rival brands. Hopefully, this incident will make future recruits think more carefully.
Like all of these big $-B magabrands, you are not supposed to advertise you work for the companies (esp since employees get a % discount for themselves as well as opportunities for in-house sales). Not so much the the retail staff, but those working in design, strategy, buying, finance, HR etc have to sign NDA.
I think the world of work doesn't have to be serious, but people, even first-jobbers have to take their jobs seriously.
