exactly!!! she signed the contract agreeing to the terms! people are always trying to be the next big internet sensation but don't stop to think about what they are doing that could cost them their job. it doesn't matter what she said or didn't say that could have been worse.
It maybe playful fun on social media, but she got fired due to breaking the terms of her contract (that she'd just signed). Any one of us would get fired by breaking rules within our work contract.
That's a good point, but what a strict contract! It didn't reflect poorly on the brand at all, and if nothing else was endearing, is my point of view. Just seems a bit uptight to me, but it's true that she signed what she signed.

Hermes, Dior, Chanel and Burberry employees have even stricter contracts. At Gucci, at least you can be (real) friends with clients, be follow/be followed on SM, accept a bunch of flowers, wine or crocs, and generally it's more fun. Gucci retail employees get a lot of benefits and certainly more money than many rival brands. Hopefully, this incident will make future recruits think more carefully.

Like all of these big $-B magabrands, you are not supposed to advertise you work for the companies (esp since employees get a % discount for themselves as well as opportunities for in-house sales). Not so much the the retail staff, but those working in design, strategy, buying, finance, HR etc have to sign NDA.

I think the world of work doesn't have to be serious, but people, even first-jobbers have to take their jobs seriously.

I had no idea! I hadn't though of the discounts and not advertising you work for them for some of these reasons. Very interesting to know, thanks for informing me!
