Social media is the ruination of this world, IMO.

ITA with you!

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

She's not young so I'm pretty floored that she'd think this was a good idea.

every single time!

She sounds like an ungrateful nutter

Maybe 'Unboxing my Uniform' will become the new thing in influencer fairyland.

she was just trying to brag to everyone about her fabulous job - the one she now says she never really wanted. and all the comments from other idiots about how she did nothing wrong.

I think most employers (mine included) have succinct instructions on what is and what isn't permissible on social media.

So did she get fired for making the video or for saying that her clothing was free?

I love Gucci products, and know this is months old now, but...they captions on her video were playful and funny. They were very clearly not serious, and all it did was make me think about how cute it was that the company gave such nice uniform items. I think it's abhorrent that she would be fired for this -- I had expected libel or something, or that she had said something prejudiced or racist. But this? This was innocent and light-hearted, and if it's the only reason for termination, it actually makes me regard the decision makers of the brand far less.

It maybe playful fun on social media, but she got fired due to breaking the terms of her contract (that she'd just signed). Any one of us would get fired by breaking rules within our work contract.

exactly!!! she signed the contract agreeing to the terms! people are always trying to be the next big internet sensation but don't stop to think about what they are doing that could cost them their job. it doesn't matter what she said or didn't say that could have been worse.
