Hands down the Disco. I had the Trio and I loved the style. But the leather is so fragile, drove me crazy how easy it scratched and as a result was not confortable carrying it. The Disco is just so practical and carefree. I got it after trying many other crossbody options and I thought style-wise was less me than something like the Trio, but I find it goes with almost everything and carry it even more that I thought I would, excactly the contrary to what happened with the Trio.

Thanks Donj [emoji4] I'm thinking the same thing - that the disco is not my style exactly but having one big compartment is probably more practical and the leather looks gorgeous. I just saw one at the mall and really do like it. But the trio seems more classy to me still. It's really tough to choose. Having both might make sense [emoji5] but I wonder if I'll get bored of the disco style eventually. Would you consider it a classic? Or just a useful bag?

I was debating this yesterday. I have a red disco but wanted a neutral bag. As much as a wanted trio, they didn't have a color I really liked. I went to Gucci and ended up with a white marmont.

I think it is very difficult to anticipate which bags would become a classic, in truth they are only very few that do... In a few years time crossbodies will probably be dead... again... That said, I think the Disco may have more life left to it than the Trio. The tasteful gold-engraved brand name has been copied so much that it has started to feel old I think.
As I said, I find the Disco extremely easy to wear, and I think that is a guarantee against boredom. I liked this bag from the start, but what kept me away (and I am guessing that may be the case with you too) was the logo issue, and the "baroque", for my standards, big fancy tassle. I remember once in this forum Papertiger (I think?) mentioned that the logo in the Soho is less conspicuous than an engraved brand name. And I see the point. The GG are so abstract that they are more a design feature than a logo. The bag is actually quite minimal. To be honest, I could do without the tassle myself, but it also fulfills a function, making the zip easier to open.

You are so spot on about the crossbody trend. I remember when it came back and i was dead against having a strap across my chest! but now that's all i buy for function

Hi Hiromi T,
Sorry I know this is an old post. But how are you liking your trio? I'm having this dilemma now between the trio and Gucci soho disco. I want something functional but understated.
Do you still love your trio? Did you ever get the disco bag? Thanks! xx

Hi! Sorry for my late reply. I haven't logged into PF for a long time and just did so this today. Hope I'm not too
late to help you. I still love my trios (I have 3) and use them often in the spring/summer and early fall months. It holds all my essentials although I can't put sunglasses in it, so I wear those on a lanyard around my neck. In the winter, I don't use it as much because it's lambskin and prefer a bag in a tougher leather like calfskin when it rains or snows.

I never got the disco because it became so popular and ubiquitous in my city. Plus I tend to shy away from big logos.

Have you tried both bags? You need to see if the trio's separate compartments work for you. Some people don't like to split up their stuff but prefer to dump everything into one big compartment.

Both bags are functional but the Celine is more understated IMO. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks so much for your input. I went to see what my boutique had last week and love the look of the small version on me. I think it's more functional and love love love the leathers. I'm waiting for them to get more black and will probably go with the lamb or grained leather. Not sure yet. The lamb looks luxurious but I'd be worried about the care.

That's a shame about sunglasses not fitting. Even in a soft case? That's my one complaint about the Chanel woc :(. Not sure how I'll feel about separate compartments. I'm sure it's just getting use to.

I have the same complaint about the Chanel woc! But it has a gusset at least, so you can expand it a little although not enough to house a pair of sunnies. The trio compartments are flatter but the leather is soft enough to allow some depth. But I find the trio looks unattractive when your items cause the compartments to bulge. If you must carry sunnies with you every day, you should test them in the trio before committing. And you should make sure your wallet fits. I use a card holder or slim wallet in my trio. The longer style wallets won't fit.

Hey I have them both in black and love them! I feel the Celine Trio is more elegant and the Gucci Soho Disco is fun and you can stuff more stuff in it without loosing the shape. I had to the Trio first but probably use the Gucci a lot more at the moment. Hard choice :)
