Hello everyone,

This is my first post as I am new to the forum! I have a red Gucci dionysus mini leather chain bag that is only about two years old. Today, I noticed that one of the threads on the side of the bag is coming out (see the picture below). I do not live close to a Gucci store and I ordered this bag online. Has anyone had a similar experience? Also, has anyone sent in a Gucci bag for repairs? Looking for some advice and would love to hear your experiences with repairs (time frame, quality of the repair, cost, process, etc.)!
Thank you!

I have had a bad experience with Gucci repair. So much so that it has turned me off from the brand completely. Good luck trying to get then not only to fix it but to respond to your questions. I just gave up and will take my money elsewhere. Let us know what happens

Oh no! Sorry to hear that! What was the problem with your bag and did you ever end up getting it repaired? Do you have any suggestions as to where I could take it to get fixed? Thank you for your response!

My bag is a vintage bag.BLACK the interior leather wore away so I needed it replaced. Gucci refused to even TOUCH the bag. They were "afraid the color wouldn't match" WOULDNT MATCH?! ITS BLACK !! They suggested I take it to a leather repair store but did NOT provide one that they recommend - horrible customer service. Plus I was just handed my bag back with no explanation on why they wouldn't fix it. It took 3 phone calls to customer service to finally get that crappy excuse. NEVER AGAIN I DONT EVEN WANTTO EVER WEAR IT AGAIN GUCCI! I WILL NEVER EVER WEAR OR BUY A GUCCI AGAIN.

Sorry to hear that... I understand why you feel the way you do. It’s very unfortunate when luxury brands’ customer service is poor especially because their products are expensive.
I sent them an email and I’ve already received a response, which is a good sign. The pictures I sent of my bag will be assessed and they will provide me with the next steps. Fingers crossed it works out!!

See what Gucci says. My guess is they will fix it. Otherwise, I suggest Rago Brothers which has a mail in service and is used by many high end designers. Good luck.

It's a fairly new bag and a current model so I don't see why Gucci wouldn't fix it.

They wouldn't re-stain a Gucci croc belt of mine and it was only 5 years old at that point. I can understand why, it may have made the overall colour darker, I respect the craftsperson's expert view.

Even Hermes won't touch the insides of their bags. IMO it's a good thing Gucci won't compromise the materials of their vintage bags.

guess I understand but it was the whole process that bothered me. They took the bag held it for 3 weeks without any follow up. I had to go into the store and then at that point they handed the bag back said they wouldn’t fix it and sent me on my way. I had to call customer service 3 times before I received any reason or explanation. I think for me that’s where they dropped the ball.

I hope they do! Have you ever sent in anything to be repaired? Do you know how much it typically costs or how long it takes?
Thank you for your reply!

Lots of stuff.

It depends on what it is that needs doing, how long I've had it and whether or not it's doable without compromising the piece.

Quite a few things I've taken in and they're had it repaired on the same day (a couple of times while I've waited). Things (especially vintage) that had to go to Italy do take a while (on the paperwork it says 3 months).

The last thing I had repaired was to completely restitch perished stitches from the shoulder strap of a vintage half-moon that both I and my mother wore with abandon every Summer (from 1990s). It cost me 40 pounds (British).

Just wanted to update everyone on what happened with my repair! Gucci repaired the bag at no charge, but they did a very sloppy job. While I was initially shocked at the condition of the bag following the repair, I was very impressed with Gucci's customer service and I am very happy with the outcome - they replaced the bag! Thank you again to everyone who responded and helped me navigate my first repair.
