Oh also if you plan to get your gucci from harrods or selfridges, they wont give you boxes. Last time I bought mine from Harrods, I had to go to their stand alone store on Sloan Street to get a box. Its only 5 mins away though. Good luck

Oh wow....glad you told me that. I was planning to go to Harrods on this trip to buy the soho. Definitely good to know!!

It sounds like you have the older style boxes. The new Louis Vuitton boxes introduced during the summer of 2016 are saffron color with a deep royal blue ribbon. Some of them are collapsible and close with a hidden magnet in the flap. View attachment 3703489

Well, I picked up my soho disco in black today. Went to the Bond Steeet store in London and was able to get a small box with it that perfectly in my luggage. So, I'm a happy camper on that front. I also ended up putting another bag on my wish list; the regular canvas &suede Dionysus shoulder bag. - wow, what a beauty in person!! Something to consider in another trip down the road. Lol.
