The necklace has a silver rope detail, then gold vermeil and a silver surround around the cameo itself. When we bought the cameo the rope was silver. I don't think the rope is a plated metal as the tarnish cream says it wouldn't work on plated metals only sterling silver. So at least I know it is 925 and not plated (even though it has its hallmarks). You couldn't see the green tinge before with the naked eye until you zoomed in with the camera.
