Hey y'all, it's the GFs graduation in the coming weeks and I can't decide between the shoulder swagger bag and a dinky (both in oxblood). Initially I like the swagger shoulder bag because it's reminiscent of a Chanel boy bag but at a better price and excellent quality. However she has been looking at the dinky bags but isn't sure about the size. Which do you prefer and why?

That swagger is gorgeous! The one thing I don't like about it is that the strap isn't removable, so you have that chain 100% of the time and it isn't always comfortable or light. I have a rip n repair like that and sacrifice comfort for style. I have 2 dinky 24 and 1 regular size dinky and I personally love the dinky, but as its' name implies, it doesn't hold a ton.
Does your GF carry a lot? If she does, the swagger is the better bet because it will hold a bit more. If she is just a wallet, phone and sunnies girl and prefers a lightweight, carefree bag, then go with dinky.
For the biggest wow factor, I'd go with the swagger. Sorry, not helping much.

Oh, just fess up -- you're a Swagger junkie!

Or am I confusing it with the Mercer?
lol! I don't have either yet, but I've been considering the Mercer 30. That was until I saw the red Rogue 25. I love the Swagger shoulder bag but I think it is too small for me. The dinky does nothing for me because I've had the vintage version, which I think is nicer.

Actually, I was referencing your general, seeming, love for the Mercer, I think? I've read some of your posts in the past that are praising Mercers...I remember once thinking "she's always praising the Mercer", like in people's reveals or when they ask for opinions....maybe I'm wrong? I can't stand either Mercers or Swaggers, so that's how I remembered it's one of those -- but maybe I'm combining your tastes with a few others, sorry...Senior moment time, hehe.

Apologies to itsjose for monopolizing your thread!

Are you considering getting the Red Rogue 25??

I didn't think twice about the Mercer when I first saw it revealed, but when I saw it in store, I thought it was pretty cute and I liked all the pockets. I thought it would work well for me. I went back and forth trying on the Mercer and the Rogue 25. I didn't get either but I remember thinking that I might if they went on sale. Actually that day, the SA offered me 40% off the Mercer and I walked away. It felt like too much pressure, so I guess I wasn't in love. I think the Rogue was a little heavier. They didn't have any great colors of Rogue at the time I was in the store. The Rogue might be better for me because I'd rather have a shoulder bag than a cross body, but the Mercer is cheaper.

The other reason I'm seriously thinking about the Rogue in red is because I fell in love with a red bag of another brand that is much more expensive, so if I loved the Rogue just as much, it would be like saving $1800!

I've never liked the regular Swagger for me as satchels aren't my first choice but the Swagger shoulder bag I've always liked. I think I saw a reveal where it was obvious it was way too small for me, so it is something I'll just admire on other people.

If you didn't take the SA's 40% discount offer you definitely were not in love.

So have you've seen the Red Rogue IRL in either size yet? Imho, its Coach's prettiest red (of their myriad of shades).

PS - May I ask what the other brand bag is in red?

I recently bought a dinky 24 (dinky is too small 24 is much better not a lot bigger but makes a big difference ) and a swagger shoulder - the latter went back fabulous bag I had the western one but the chain is awful wayyyyy too big gay and chunky they need to replace that pronto such a shame as bag is perfect otherwise

I really like the swagger !

I think the Dinky is the way to go if that's the design your girlfriend prefers, but first I would check whether it fits the things she absolutely needs to carry. It might be a good idea to go to the store with her to try it out.
