I love Moreau! But I've also never been impressed with Goyard, so there's a bias there. Leather on the Moreau is so beautiful, I have 3 Vincennes. I love the thick leather handles, the bags are reversible, and the handles can be pushed down for packing/ transport. Such an underrated brand. They use the same leather Atelier as Hermes...so far, I have not had any issues with wear/ function/ quality etc.
Those are really beautiful bags!! Such dynamic color combos! Do you prefer the vertical orientation? Does the drop allow you to hang it on your shoulder?

View attachment 4984038See all the holes? And I baby my bags. Yikes!

This looks very damaged. Did you put really heavy stuff in there? I was told the St. Louis is not for heavy items, such as a laptop. I don't have a Goyard store near me, so I am just waiting for when we can travel to buy one. But, if the quality is as bad as you have shown in this picture, then I am quite hesitant to spend my hard earn money on it.

I can't buy both the Goyard Artois MM and Moreau Vincennes MM because I can't justify having 3 tote bags (I already own the Neverfull MM), nor do I need 3 tote bags!

I never put anything heavy in it because I was afraid to! I kept it very light. The holes are just from where the bag rubbed against my body/clothes.

Not a single friend who owned the St. Louis ever bought a second Goyard product. We all hated the quality.

I've never seen one like that. I travel with mine, stuff them under plane seats, strap on top of my carry-on luggage, carry to games, etc. . . mine show no wear remotely like that. Love my 3 so much that I want more of them!

It's so sad to see your bag like this, makes one question the qualitity.. Is your a PM or GM? Love the green color btw <3
I owned a PM but sold it after a couple of months as I was afraid the corners will end like this.
Now I'm thinking of getting a Artois PM instead.

I know, it makes me sad. It was sooo expensive, too. It is a GM. I think the Artois would be a much better choice, as it has the reinforced corners. Obviously they figured out that corner wear was an issue and are trying to prevent it from happening, which is great!

I am debating between the Goyard Artois MM or Moreau Paris Vincennes MM.

One is a leather bag, the other one is not.

How durable is Goyard’s material? I emailed them about a week ago regarding distance sale, but have not heard back. That makes me leaning towards Moreau Paris. Moreau Paris is also more accessible for me. I can get it in my country.

Which one would you go for ?

I have the black Artois MM and love it. I’ve had it about a year and a half and it’s been one of my favorite bags since I got it, and has held up beautifully so far. It’s so lightweight, and I love the structure/size and zip closure

Mine was shipped from Japan. It was QUITE the process. I had to wait a couple weeks just to hear back if they were willing to ship the bag directly to me. But I wanted the bag so badly that I was willing to be patient.
Worth it, no doubt! But why Japan? I’ve been in touch with Moreau Paris regarding a custom bag (vaccinating between a Celestin GM and a Vincennes MM; I want both, but!) and they’ve been nothing but accommodating. Trying to curb my need for immediate gratification!

The Paris boutique told me the bag was exclusive to Japan. I am with you on wanting instant gratification. Waiting is hard! I’ve gotten better with age and lots of practice. Haha!

Also, which color Celestin? I am thinking of getting the Celestin GM in white for summer, but I’m afraid it’ll stain too much!

Ah! I wondered that, because I hadn’t seen that tall Vincennes prior! Delish!

I am thinking the rich tan jacquard GM, but with the hand-painted “camouflage” from the 2021 African collection. Thus far, they’d only done it in the PM. And if I’m going to hand-paint that, I might consider working a monogram into it, but the hand painting alone is special.

I love that white even more than the Goyardine version! Eh, just do it, keep after it. It’s reputed to stand up quite well.

Whoops—yours wasn’t the tall Vincennes, was it?

What’s so brilliant about Moreau is the two kinds of leather and the myriad color and print combos—and some reversible. I originally wanted a Celestin-Vincennes mashup: the jacquard on one side, leather on the other, and reversible. But I think having a Vincennes as a daily go-to first is a better gateway drug. Then I ponder the ideal Vincennes combo.

And I’m with you. The wear on my St. Louis brought me to the Moreau Celestin. When I lived in Paris, I saw the Moreaux. And I like that they’re not so ubiquitous here.
