This isn't accurate, I was offered a BF Birkin 30 recently and it's nothing like OG Barenia. I'll make no judgment on which is "better" but to say they are almost identical.....I just do not see that. Simply the fact that one is grained and one not makes a major difference in look but the hand feel is also different. Sorry to hijack a thread but for those choosing any Barenia, important to know.

I do agree with your comment and could have been more accurate in my opinion- the BF has a mildly grained finish that is similar to togo or clemence, whilst the original Barenia is smooth. They both have a smooth waxy finish and feels and smells similar. The patina developed is also similar.

The BF is more durable but less water resistant - this was the information provided by the SM.

@azukitea - I know this thread is old but as I am about to hopefully receive (hello postal services…) my preloved K32 Sellier in barenia soon, would you mind sharing your experiences about how yours is holding up plus how and in which situations you are mostly using it as inspiration?

It looks do gorgeous on the pictures, which makes me even more impatient for mine… 😊

Hi first of all congrats on your score! and I am sure you will find it very beautiful .Yes this is indeed an older thread.
I actually rehomed my barenia k32 as I did not end up using this bag much and as my collection has since evolved over the year, I have moved on to other sizes/ hertitage leather, and I much prefer the sellier style in smaller sizes.
The sellier style in 32 is too big for me and too boxy (formal) for my daily use and style, though the leather does hold up and it didnt patina much. I think may be deep down I didnt like barenia in the sellier style as much as I have initially thought.
