Gold or silver hardware for black matte croc Birkin?

I really love matte croc so I know that's what I am getting for sure. If I am getting it...because you know, Hermes orders. Sometimes you get it, sometimes you don't :)
I just have SUCH a headache deciding on the hardware.

My husband says that gold looks much better than palladium...And since with my paycheck only (full disclosure :) ) without his support I'll be able to maybe buy a croc matte bag handle ;), his opinion counts for something too :)

And I just don't imagine having mutiple croc bags so I guess this is it. i've gotta make the "right" choice :) Man-oh-man, gold or palladium? Honestly I would love to have both :) but I am affraid it's not very reslistic.

Have you gotten one bag with an "iffy" hardware and then regreted that you didn't wait/order for the "right" hardware?

Does palladium look nice on black croc? Or does it look too much like an imitation?

Phw definitely looks nice on Black matte croc IMO. Doesn't look like an imitation at all. It looks very chique, timeless and elegant.
But you have to decide which one you like most and I get it that it is not an easy decision to make.
Here's a picture of matte with phw (not mine, I wish lol).

With ghw when worn...must say looks also really nice and works with white metals too as you can see in the picture. Pic 2 and 3 is matte with phw on a mannequin.
Hope these pics will help you a bit but no matter what you pick, you bag is going to be stunning for sure .

Another vote for palladium with matte croc. If it were shiny croc, I would say gold, but I think the palladium complements the matte look a bit better. However, either version would be absolutely gorgeous, so get what you love most! Even if you decide to stick with the gold, I honestly wouldn't worry too much about it not matching with your jewelry. I personally like the look of mixing and matching some metals, and I highly doubt anyone who sees you carrying the bag with GHW while wearing white gold/platinum jewelry will think to themselves "oh, that lady has no style." :p Either version will be absolutely stunning.

Gold, those photos did it for me. It's like the mother lode of all Birkins. But you have to love it, feel comfortable carrying it because it works with your everyday lifestyle. Gold is bold and silver is more understated. No matter what, you can't make a bad call here.

If there were never any choice, I mean that ALL the bags were ONLY made with gold hardware OR ALL the bags were ONLY made with platinum hardware, you would think that your bag is wonderful and how lucky you are to have it.
Don't let the possibility of a different choice, whatever it might be, cloud the fact that it will always be a wonderful bag or spoil your enjoyment of it.
Both look equally good with black and there is no absolute aesthetic reason why one or other Is right or wrong - purely a matter of taste or preference with what you might be wearing on any given day.
It will be stunning whatever it is finished with - I'm sure we are all confident you will love it and enjoy it.

This is such a wonderful group of photos. I love how the top one beautifully illustrated how GHW looks along with platinum or white gold jewelry.
I am not sure why I feel this way but my initial impression is that the PHW appears more masculine somehow. Either choice is going to be absolutely wonderful!!

Today is a national holiday in Germany so I've got one more day to make up my mind. Both options look stunning....One minute I am thinking palladium for sure, then the gold catches my eye and I am thinking: wow, what a stunner.

Thank you very much for all the pics and your opinions! The photos make me wanna have this bag right this minute! :) Can't wait! It just looks so pretty on the pictures I can't take my eyes away from it! :) I only saw it live twice: once a lady passed me by on the street here in Frankfurt and another time there was a woman who casually put it on a floor in a restaurant where we were also dining. I didn't wanna stare so I just stole a glance (or 20...:;)) but it was love at first sight :)

One more question for you. I am just such a newbie to Hermes world, I don't know anything. But I am learning :)
Is there significant difference between Crocodile Niloticus Matte and Crocodile Porosus Matte? I guess, I would prefer smaller scales. I don't remember my SA saying anything about that. Can you specify the particular croc variation when ordering? On the little order confirmation notice it just says "croc" so I am wondering about that.

yes, there is a difference between the 2 crocs and also a price difference :yucky:. i forgot which was which, i would study before i speak to H. or perhaps H would offer you what is available now. about the scale size, between N and P are general differences, but it is organic so it will boil down to the animal at the end of the day

I believe porosus is more expensive.
