hello all =)
I will be going to Japan soon and really wanna hook myself up with some H while I'm there or at least browse the reseller shops and get all touchy-feely with some bags...:graucho:
If you could recommend any reseller shops in tokyo I would really appreciate it! xx

No recommendations but hope you have a fabulous time! It's the one place I'd love to see (I have a Japanese penfriend and one day I hope to meet up with her).

alidoll: thank you! wow, how long have you and your penfriend been in touch? I feel like penfriends are so uncommon this day... it's really sad.

costa: wow! I think japan is beautiful in winter! aah the onzen baths!!! am jealous!!! will report any re-sellers I find to you! :police:

Hi Vanilinae!! YAY!! You're going to one of my fav holiday destinations! I was just in Tokyo 2 weeks ago! My suggestion: you can try to get H bags in the actual H shops first because you can actually walk into the H shop and find Birkins/Kellys/HACs/exotics, resellers are even more expensive. Only thing is that the price (without tax) is a little higher than say UK or US. You should make an appointment at the Ritz Carlton (Tokyo Midtown) H shop because it's an ultra exclusive shop that's appointment only. Good Luck! I'm SURE you'll find something!!!

Since I was about 14 years old (I'm now 37). The teacher asked if anyone wanted a penfriend and I thought "why not" - thinking it would probably be someone from France [as I was doing French at the time]. A letter arrived from Japan and we've been writing back and forth ever since. I never got Japanese at school so most of the letters are in English (at the beginning it wasn't too bad as she was getting lessons at school but now she tends to use Babelfish so some of the letters can be quite "interesting" to read!). We try to send a small birthday and Christmas present each year and she's sent photographs of her 2 children wearing traditional Japanese clothing.

I've always wanted to go over to Japan but ended up in Singapore or Hong Kong instead so the next time I go to the far east, I want it to be Japan!

Oh - when i was recently in Tokyo, the SA said that Japan was not increasing the H prices in August. They had made a large price increase in Jan and so there was no word on any price increase till 2009. I guess that's good to know as the Japan H prices are already higher than many places!!

^ It sure does especially now that the dollar is rather weak. But at least it's still cheaper than getting from the reseller. Plus the experience of purchasing a bag directly from a Hermes store is indescribable.
