Givenchy Nightingale or Chloe Paraty?!

I have both bags. The Paraty can look a little more formal, the Nightingale more casual. The Paraty is more structured, the Nightingale is not structured at all. So, you can stuff more things in a Nightingale.

Both bags are heavy even without anything inside.

It really depends on what you will use it for. Since you said you like unstructured, then the Nightingale would be the way to go.

It seems that Bal lovers love Givenchy too![emoji7][emoji7]

Oh yes.. we don't stray too far from slouchy leather..lol.

(psst.. have you see the new nightingales? The fall/winter colelction? OMG.. TDF. They really streamlined the bag.)

Add me to the list of Chloe converts. I had five Balenciagas when I decided to break the rut I was in and venture out towards a new style. My first choice was a peacock blue medium Marcie and then I got a black, snakeskin Paraty. I had seriously considered a Givenchy bag, but, at the time I hated the shoulder strap of the Nightingale and felt that the hand straps were too awkward and short to even comfortably fit on my forearm. I have skinny, little ones and the handles squeezed them like sausages. The Chloes, like Balenciaga, work great with the strap or handles.

It's a tough call, because I agree that Balenciaga fandom translates more easily to the Givenchy tough/edgy aesthetic. Chloe is more airy, with stores filled with pale shades of pink, seafoam and cream. I just channel my inner hippie/organic side when I tote around my Chloes

I've been using my Balenciaga City for years now and I'm intending to get another bag which is non-structured and that I can use from day to night.

Am deciding between the Givenchy Nightingale (Goatskin, Small / Med) and Chloe Paraty (Small / Med).
Comments please? :woot:

Anyone knows the weight difference? I would prefer something that's light as I sometimes find Bal City a tad heavy too.
My vote is for the Nightingale. I had a Paraty and sold it because the chain links on the handle were noisy and clunky and were always getting stuck. Also, the the strap hung awkwardly and I found it very uncomfortable to carry on my shoulder. Generally I love Chloe bags and have a few other Chloes but the Paraty just didn't work out for me. Good luck deciding!

I have a Paraty and would definitely recommend it.

My Paraty is made of deerskin and not calf so it is very lightweight and a bit slouchier than the calfskin Paraty. I like that is has that mix b/w slouchy and structured.
Perhaps that's another option.

Good to know Paraty comes in deerskin. I must remember to ask for deerskin when I buy in future. I have very long list of Bag wishes and Paraty isn't on the top so I hope they won't discontinue Paraty so soon!
