Bundchen bumps Brady baby rumors

By Carol Beggy & Mark Shanahan, Globe Staff | March 22, 2007
If Gisele Bundchen's having a baby, it's news to her. The Brazilian beauty, who's famously dating Pats QB Tom Brady, spoke to gossip mongers in Madrid this week and said reports that she's in the family way are false. It was the first time the sizzling supermodel has directly addressed persistent Internet rumors that she, like Brady's ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan, is pregnant. "It is impressive as these [stories] appear in the media," Bundchen said, according to a translation posted on the Brazilian website glamurama.com.br. "If it was truth, I already would have 10 children. But I am not pregnant nor [do] I intend to be so early." Her denial notwithstanding, the whispers inexplicably continue. The new issue of Us Weekly says Brady and Bundchen "refuse to clear the air," but the mag goes on to admit that Gisele showed "no sign of a bump" as she frolicked recently in the Costa Rican surf. Us also quotes someone who lives next door to Brady's parents, who says, "They're a wonderful family. I would hate to see any scandal touch them." Bundchen was in Madrid to promote her new line of sandals, "Ipanema Gisele Bundchen," and though reporters were asked to refrain from personal questions, they fired off a few anyway. Brady, meanwhile, who's back in Boston for the Patriots' off-season workouts, has not commented on his romance with Bundchen. But there is no question the couple is still cozy. According to the New York Post, the pretty pair enjoyed a romantic dinner on St. Patrick's Day at the Spotted Pig in the West Village.

Brady welcomes baby boy

By Mark Shanahan, Globe Staff | August 22, 2007
Patriots quarterback Tom Brady became a father for the first time yesterday when his former girlfriend, actress Bridget Moynahan, gave birth to a baby boy in Los Angeles.
Brady, whose relationship with Moynahan ended late last year, flew to the West Coast early Wednesday, but it's unclear if he arrived in time for the birth. Moynahan's publicist Christina Papadopoulos told the Globe Wednesday night that "mother and baby are doing well," but she didn't provide any other details, including the child's name, weight or when, precisely, the baby arrived.
Brady did not show up for practice Wednesday, and team officials wouldn't say why. But we're told No. 12 caught a ride on the Kraft family's private jet, leaving for LA in the morning from Hanscom Field. "Entertainment Tonight" reported last night that Brady, who told reporters this week he hoped to be present for the birth, had been spotted at a hospital in Santa Monica with flowers in hand.
Moynahan, who turns 37 next month, is a Massachusetts native and graduate of Longmeadow High School. She's best known professionally for her role in the film "I, Robot" and as Mr. Big's wife, Natasha, on HBO's "Sex and the City." She also starred on the ABC series "6 Degrees," and has a deal with the network to develop another project. Her next film, a comedy called "Noise," co-stars Tim Robbins and William Hurt, and is due out later this year.
Brady, who just turned 30, dated Moynahan for nearly three years. Often during the couple's courtship, Moynahan made it clear she'd like to have children. Brady, a three-time Super Bowl champ who grew up in northern California, was not so explicit about his interest in having a family.
In February, a few days after the New York Post first reported the pregnancy, Brady's agent, Don Yee, issued a statement saying his client was "excited" about becoming a dad. Since then, the star QB has been mostly mum on the subject, and Yee didn't return a phone call Wednesday.
Not long after the couple's break-up, which was announced in mid December, Brady began dating Gisele Bundchen, the world's richest supermodel and the former girlfriend of actor Leonardo DiCaprio. Since the end of football season, Brady and his Brazilian beauty have been photographed at fashion events in London, Milan, and Versailles. The two are also routinely snapped strolling hand-in-hand down the streets of New York, where both have plush apartments.
Bundchen, who celebrated her 27th birthday in July, recently told a British tabloid that she's looking forward to becoming the "stepmum" to Brady's baby. "If you love someone, you love everything that comes with him." She's even reported to have bought several gifts for the child, including items from Baby Dior, Burberry, and a Gucci bib.
Team officials Wednesday night had no comment on the birth, and said they didn't know when Brady might return. The Pats play their next exhibition game Friday in North Carolina against the Panthers.
"Tom talking about it or sharing an anecdote will be a lot more humanizing than us issuing a statement," said team spokesman Stacey James

Meet the new Stetson man!

The new face of Stetson Cologne is new daddy Tom Brady, who was photographed on location at a Simi Valley, California ranch.

“I am excited to be the Stetson man,” Brady has said. “Stetson do a great job of reflecting the guy who’s unafraid to tackle the unknown, get involved and be his own person—that’s how I live my life, and I think that’s how men who wear Stetson approach theirs.”

The new Stetson man will appear in stores nationwide in time for the 2007 holiday season.

WHAT DO YOU THINK of Brady’s ad campaign for Stetson — YAY or NAY?
