Why does she need to marry anyone? She's a self made multi-millionaire, why can't she just have a younger Boo a'la
Olivia Wilde & Harry Styles?
I think there's something to be said about being with someone around your own age. You know the steely dan song Hey Nineteen? now I'm aging myself but anyway it's shared generational memories. Gisele doesn't need a wealthy man but she would probably want someone who was at least somewhat wealthy and/or powerful - her equal.

BRB, telling my DH his time is up now that Tom is officially divorced
.

No, but really, I’m sad for both of them . I still believe he was going to officially retire after this season since he has always said he wants to play until 45. Now that they are divorced, I don’t see him retiring…

It is astonishing they were able to finalize details so quickly, assuming divorce talk came sometime after the first week of August, when Gisele had a birthday post for him on social media and all appeared normal.

that's what he claimed but i don't believe it and more importantly - neither did Gisele

I think she knew just like the rest of the world, but couldn’t deal with it any longer. It’s too bad she couldn’t wait another few months after committing 13 years to their marriage?
He’s been saying 45 for years and the media had previously noted how he was getting to his 45 mark.

While the retirement was probably an issue between them (I mean he's unretired like twice now.) and I don't blame her for being pissed about that on some level. However, you have kids and a 13 year marriage and dude is 45, let's face it, it's coming much sooner than later whether he likes or not. So really would either of them throw in the towel considering their kids and everything just over this?

I'm sure there's a lot more to it than that.

He only "unretired" once after being forced to make a decision about retirement . I agree, there's definitely alot more to it than just another few months of football.

Here is a theory from within the NFL:

“There’s a theory, there’s a theory in league circles, and I think I’m couching it properly – that the issues with Tom Brady and his wife blew up when the league announced the punishment of the Dolphins because of the flirtation with Brady, because she had, as the theory goes, no idea he was talking to the Dolphins,” Florio claimed, per Barstool Sports.

"But I’m telling you, there are people who are employed by NFL teams who think that,” Florio continued. “And when you look at the timeline, that stuff came out, and it was the next day he started missing practices.”

The theory sounds very possible. However, not being part of his career decisions has been throughout the entirety of their relationship. She has never had a say in it so why was this time the one that really mattered to her? He didn’t ask her to retire from modeling, that was what she wanted to do.

When the trouble was first announced it was revealed that they had had prior mini-separations over the years that were kept private. My theory is this has been coming for awhile and it just needed one more big argument to finish it off.

Looks like the divorce was a very long time in the works. Gisele purchased a small home for herself and the kids in Miami way back in February -- 2 weeks before he 'unretired.'

From the NY Post:
"It seems like a star marriage took an ugly turn months before the public caught wind of it.

Two weeks before Tom Brady decided to make his NFL comeback, Gisele Bündchen quietly purchased a modest three-bedroom, three-bathroom home near Miami Beach, The Post has learned.

Records show she closed on the home on Feb. 28 for $1.25 million"

we have no idea that it never mattered to her before though! just because it was not shared all over the tabloids any other time because as you said it was kept private.

looks like she was being very smart and getting all her ducks in a row. we don't know if HE knew they would be divorcing but she obviously did.

The whole thing to me just shows two very strong willed individuals… and obviously she’s been calculated this whole way, as I’m sure she’s been with her career.

And I’m not saying calculated as if it’s a bad thing. After all I’m a huge believer in calculated risks.

Maybe they had friction for a very long time. Insurmountable differences. There's no choice but to get her affairs in order. $1.25 million dollar home is a very modest home. I'm actually more surprised at the house she went for.

So does this show that the "Tom wouldn't retire so Giselle divorced him" story is actually the reverse? Did he retire, found out she was divorcing him anyway, and decided that if he didn't have a marriage to worry about, he might as well keep playing?
