Hi ladies,

I need to get some young women (early 20s) a thank you gift. Was hoping to get them something more personal than just a gift card or cash. Was thinking of getting a coach item $50-75 and putting some money in it. Good idea or bad idea?

Was thinking of one of the following:
mini skinny ID case
small double zip coin case
small cosmetic case
corner zip wristlet (small or double, not sure what the difference is)

I hesitate because we all have our personal tastes and preferences, but was wondering if you thought any of the above might be universally loved, lol. If you have any other ideas, please share. Thanks so much!

Any of the above would be a wonderful and very generous gift. However, I would go with either the small cosmetic case or the wristlet. I think any young woman would love to get a gift like this from Coach. :smile1:

Great idea! I did the same thing in June. A friends daughter graduated from high school and was going off to college. I got her a universal phone case and also put some cash in it. She was thrilled! I have no idea what she did with the money but she uses the phone case every day.

I think a wristlet will be a great idea. Hope she likes whatever you pick out :)

Thanks, I hope so too!

Those universal phone cases are nice. I wish I could afford to splurge like that, but I have to buy for four!

You just gave me a great idea though. May have to do what you did for my goddaughter who graduates high school next June. Thanks!

I think the wristlet would be a great idea! They could use it as a wristlet, or like so many of us do, use it to keep things organized in our purses.

Sounds like a very generous gift that I'm sure they will love and appreciate! :)

I'd say a wristlet or double zip wristlet. If these are for college girls, those two items would be so useful- just toss it in the bookbag & go! I used my mini skinny a ton in college, but that was a time before smartphones.

Thank you both for responding! I'm so glad I asked because I was leaning towards the mini skinny since I love mine. But based on everyone's responses, it sounds like a wristlet is the way to go.

Thanks!

Maybe you should just give them that amount in cash or a Coach gift card instead. They could use that money towards a pricier item they've been coveting from the collection.

What if they never use the item you've purchased them? What if they don't like the color choice, or material? Have you ever received a gift you weren't thrilled about? The appreciation is always going to be there, they know you went out of your way to get them something special, and that is extremely kind of you. But, maybe ask for some gift receipts.

Not trying to sound rude or unappreciative, but I'm in this age group, and the first thing that comes to mind regarding gifts from other people is the restriction of choice.

Regardless of what you choose in the end, It's a very thoughtful gesture. I just know they'll appreciate your benevolence! :D

I got my friend who doesn't like to carry a big purse a wristlet for her birthday. I can't remember what the size was, but it was big enough that she was able to put her smartphone in it along with her ID and cash. She loved it.

I appreciate your response and had the same concerns, that's why I posted the question - I want to hear your opinion! I am very picky, but thought maybe something like a wristlet could be used for several things whether you carry a big purse or a small one. If I go this route, I would definitely include a gift receipt so they could exchange it. I know money is usually more appreciated, I just wanted to give them something personal plus money.

I usually give wristlets as gifts to my nieces, they love it and find very useful...:smile1:

Thanks! If I do go this route, I will definitely get a wristlet. :D

Small wristlets are always good. You can throw your phone or iPod cords in there... money... cards... whatever. That'll be a nice gift and they'll find something to use them for lol.
