Maybe I'm too late to reply, but the best thing I think would be a detailed note to the manager/corporate talking about the exceptional service you received. I don't know how big of a deal happy customers are to VCA, but at my workplace if someone sends a note of appreciation to management telling about a good experience they had with you it's a REALLY big deal and you get awards and bonuses for it.

Nothing beats a nice hand written thank you note. Seriously, nobody takes the time to write down these days. I'd like to bring treats to the store so that everybody share.

A hand written note is a wonderful thing to do. I sent one to my SA. The SM held onto it & read it in front of all employees at a meeting. It was a great thing for my sweet SA. I'm so happy!

Christofle is correct. Most SA's are prohibited (via corporate policy) from accepting personal gifts other than food/flowers. Interestingly enough, I am typically the recipient of gifts from VCA vs the other way around...and while I have expressed my gratitude for excellent service I have not felt compelled to send tangible gifts back. The best reward of course is to be a repeat and loyal customer....
One exception is Hermes...I will admit to having dropped off cupcakes or other treats for everybody to enjoy following the purchase of a coveted handbag or two. The SA's are always so kind and sweet to me that I love to treat them all..not just my SA (who is an angel).

Before Hermes changed their charge/send policy I shopped at the first Hermes in Bellagio and Hermes in Charlotte NC. I have sent Godiva chocolates for the entire boutique staff at Christmas. Every one there knew me and was always extremely nice to me. I gifted me SAs separately.
Both my SAs sent me very nice gifts at Christmas and on my birthday. I did not feel I "owed" them anything for their beyond excellent service, I did it because I wanted to. They never expected it and that was part of the joy of doing it.

Hello All,
I have a terrific SA who helps me with my jewelry and VCA purchases at Neimans. I would like to get her a gift to thank her for her great service. I have given her chocolates in the past, but thought she would appreciate a gift card more - who doesn't love the gift of shopping? Is it tacky to get her a gift card to Neimans? I know she shops occasionally at NM. Any help and or suggestions would be great! Thanks!

A perishable good is the best like chocolate or cookies. It is more a token. However if you want to do a gift card, I think staying with the food theme is best. For business gift cards, I like to do Starbucks. It’s simple and when she gets her latte, she will think of you.

I would not do a NM gift card because she also works at NM. But also... unless you are giving her a big dollar amount, she will most likely have to add money to spend your gift card if that makes sense and that’s not a good thing to do.

An extreme example is someone giving me a $100 gift card to shop at Hermès. Very nice thought but it kind of diminishes the gift as it is on the low end of the boutique price point and now I have to put more money into this “gift”. Take that same $100 and get me a Starbucks gift card, and I am like wow... that’s a lot of lattes... thank you! Love it!

I hope that makes sense. And by the way, for me, I have a great SA and every year, I give her a box of Godiva. It’s only once a year, she loves it, and it’s kind of tradition now. [emoji1]

Good luck!

Thank you for such a thought fun answer Willeyi. That makes total sense when I think about your Hermes example. I wouldn't want her to feel like she has to spend more to enjoy her gift. I will stick to the chocolates as a safe bet. Thanks again for helping me figure this out!

I know there are store policies that usually do not accept physical items or gift cards.
However, edible treats are usually okay.

I have heard that people give treats like, chocolates, fruits, chocolate dipped strawberries, etc.

Interesting! I didn't know that. I always bring mine something and something for his little. One year he came through for me so much that I searched to find a particular Hermes tie with the 4 leaf clover but it was vintage. I spent a month trying to find it daily. That was several years ago and I still catch him wearing it even when I do not have an appointment.

I didn't know that and brought in a gift card for my sa 😂 but then with edible items I worry post COVID it's a bit weird...I would love to treat my sa to something as a thank you for the long relationship but also don't want to weird them out lol
