Gift for Mom on Christmas Day

Here is mine, it is very dainty and actually expands and contracts at the bottom, it is a full bracelet not a cuff. but it is very lightweight, so was not an expensive piece.
I bought it from an antiques store some years ago, wonder if you could get something done for your mum, featuring her birthstone (depending on what that stone is...)

ETA: You would have to be pretty organised to go the custom route at this stage though!

Costco is having a (20% Off?) sale on 1.5ctw Diamond Huggins for $1800. Someone bought a pair for her Mom. I think that is a great deal and a fantastic gift for Mom. I know I would like the Diamond huggies myself, although I already have a pair.

Problem is that you are not in US, and I am not sure how you can buy online from your country. Another problem is that it is over your budget.

Honestly, I would hold off the gift until I have saved up enough money to buy her a nice gift like the Diamond huggies next year. Remember, you Mom is a matured adult rather than a teenager. She will appreciate finer things. if you still want to give her something this year, simply give her money or a gift card.

1000USD, which equals roughly 1400SGD might already be a very nice gift for her mom.

Indeed, it is a very generous gift. I am just thinking for myself, as a mother of adult children. At this age, I have collected some, although not a whole lot of, fine jewelry that are timeless pieces. Last thing I want is to be stuck with something that I do not wear but too valuable to give away. I understand very well that it is a gift out of love, but the frugal side of me hates to see waste.

Definitely, $1000 would not get me what I like. I understand the amount is more than enough for young people jewelry. I just hate to see my child waste money on me. This is the reason why I think it is best to either give gift card or save the money to accumulate for a nicer gift years later.

I am just assuming it is a "big" gift that does not happen often. Again, I prefer one very nice gift which I adore over many small ones which I cannot use.

You make some very valid points, I guess I was thinking from the point the point of view that this might be a significant upgrade to her collection. For instance my mother doesn't spend any money on luxuries so I could get her a significant upgrade with that budget.

Hmmm. Maybe she would appreciate other surprise gifts instead of a jewelry with such budget limit. Actually, she no longer wear some of her jewelry pieces and just wear the same pieces for daily wear but I know that she loves jewelries. I will see what other things I can give her that she will appreciate :)

You could get her a beautiful locket. When I was pregnant with my first child, my mom gave me the locket the belonged to my grandmother. I loved putting photos of my family inside and wearing it.
