I think this might have to do with PM selling fees. I’m a literal newbie to that platform, but I’ve seen some videos saying their seller fees are high.

But I agree. I’ve been poking around Mercari, and it seems a bit more affordable.
they have dooney store like eBay On poshmark. The prices in the dooney store on poshmark are WAY MORE, than ild eBay. And there is no free shipping. Ild eBay I got my cards cases within a couple days Via UPS. NOT USPS sent via UPS like dooney.com seems to do a lot… the alto arietta was on sale for $299 on ild.com and ild eBay, but poshmark had it priced more. The Clayton right now is $261 on ild eBay and poshmark as it at like $446

i have noticed this. ild ebay also has the flo chelsea, but ild site doesn't.

Poshmark is imo is more expensive than eBay and Mercari
I don't understand some of the sellers logic on Poshmark. They price their DB items as if they are brand new, & sometimes even higher! I'm sorry but I don't care if they are brand new new & still have tags. If they are coming from YOUR house as opposed from the manufacturer I am NOT going to pay full price. Akin to once you drive that car off the lot it depreciates. And some absolutely refuse to dicker - they just keep listing the item at the too high price.

The item will stay there. I will usually like an item and the seller sends an offer
Last item I attempted to purchase from Posh, the seller had it marked 15% off Dooney full non-sale price. I offered a solid purchase for 15% more off, & she came back with the statement of "It lists at da-dee-dah (her original 15% off price)". OK then, you can keep it. Not surprisingly, she still has not sold it.
Regarding the coin pouches, that's just gouging. Majorly.

I’ll be honest, majority of my purchasing is from resale sites. I don’t mind it at all, and prefer the hunt for a great deal. However, I do want to purchase at least 1 bag from D&B, that’s my very own.

But I agree with you. A lot of the prices on some of these sites is ridiculous. And I’m looking at YOU GOODWILLFINDS - JUST BECAUSE YOU PUT AN AUTHENTICATION CERT WITH THE BAG DOESNT MEAN YOU GET TO JACK UP THE PRICE OF SAID BAG, TO MORE THAN WHAT I CAN GET IT FOR ON D&B!

Phew, sorry, I don’t know what came over me. LMAO :P:biggrin:

Relief Im So Relieved GIF

Does anyone have any experience with their bags? How do they compare to D&B?

I've come across a few in my vintage D&B searches. I'm asking in this forum because I thought they looked very similar to Dooney's. I took a look on their site and saw they started in 1975, and are also out of Norwalk, CT.

Here is some info, they make a very high quality product! For some reason I thought they’d been around a lot longer than the mid 70’s.

some sellers say make me an offer…. ok I’ll make an offer for what I’m willing to pay. They usually accept. Most of the time I’ll just like the item and they send me an offer.

yesssssssssssssss… I love the hunt. I don’t mind a pre-loved discontinued bag in good condition. Just like u said I wanted to purchase a few new from Dooney. The sales have been great so far.

Their items are gorgeous. Looks like great quality. It seems they did make items in Spain. After looking for info on this company, I came across a Reddit post, and a comment stuck out. Apparently Ghurka was on the brink of shutting down. Some company bought them, and they moved their ops to Ohio, and they’re slowly bringing their manufacturing back to the US.

Very interesting. I'm all in favor of Made in USA handbags. Very few handbags are
actually manufactured here, even if the company is based in the US, and the bags
are designed in the US. And it's often hard to get the info, especially if the company
has manufacturing done in multiple countries.

I fully understand the business reasons a company moves its manufacturing outside
the US. I worked for a large company in years past and saw the presentations and
business analysis as to why it was a necessary and prudent move. Fast forward
20+ years and companies are realizing the benefits of Made in USA.... from a
business standpoint (quality, control, financial) as well as marketing and strategic.
I'm happy to see the return to USA for handbag (and other products).
That is not to say there isn't excellent craftsmanship done in other places.
It's a complex subject. Sometimes it's a matter of degree.... how far the
pendulum has swung before a correction to some balance (midpoint) is made.
